Robert Zurgilgen arbeitet seit mehr als 24 Jahren in der Backstube. Seine Frau Marlene Zurgilgen absolvierte von 1982 bis 1985 ihre Ausbildung zur Konditorin-Confiseurin bei Rainer Imwinkelried. Ihre gemeinsame Tochter, Nicole Ritz-Zurgilgen, absolvierte ebenfalls die Ausbildung zur Bäckerin-Konditorin bei Rainer und schloss diese erfolgreich im Jahr 2011 ab. Anschliessend liess sie sich zur Kauffrau EFZ in einem externen Unternehmen ausbilden. Fabian Zurgilgen, das jüngste Mitglied der sechsköpfigen Familie Zurgilgen, erlernte den Beruf Koch EFZ bei der Familie Michlig im Hotel Restaurant Catering Tenne in Gluringen. Nach erfolgreichem Abschluss sammelte er während eineinhalb Jahren Erfahrungen im Hotel Alpenblick Fieschertal, Restaurant Albrun Binn sowie als Fourier beim Militär.
