  My first evening dinner in Switzerland August 25th was very disappointing here. The server should be fired for pressuring me intensely for an extra 10% tip. He kept saying "Service not Included". This is a complete lie, as I found later that it's a Swiss law that tips are included in the high prices of food and drinks. I didn't fall for this tourist tactic the rest of my trip. The experience left a bad impression on me. If you’re a tourist, they will try this I'm sure on you. Don't fall for it. They should be ashamed.

  If you’re looking for a relaxing meal with postcard views right on the river, Da Ernesto hits the mark. Sitting along the water overlooking the Wooden Chapel Bridge, it’s one of those spots where you can just sit back, enjoy a drink, and do some prime people-watching after walking all over town. The food leans classic Italian, and the pizza genuinely delivers. The Pizza Monica is a standout, topped with ham, mushrooms, and a soft egg in the center that ties everything together nicely. Before the pizza arrives, definitely start with the bruschetta. They serve it on perfectly toasted sourdough, loaded with ripe diced tomatoes that soak right into the olive oil without making the bread soggy. Service was attentive and friendly, keeping the pace unhurried even during peak hours. It’s an easy, convenient stop to recharge your feet and take in the river breeze before heading on to your next stop.

  Looked like a good place to enjoy dinner. Went with family around 8:15pm and requested for a table at the outside section After a bit of drama about giving us the table, they finally gave the table at the desired front section. When we sat down and started looking at the menu, then the server tells us each person has to order seperate main and a drink. I checked if they have a policy of charging extra if we are sharing. He rudely said no, not at this hour and this is the policy I checked and it was clearly written on the menu that there is a charge of 3 CHF per person in case sharing. No mention of timing or the policy for the evening or anything like that Unfortunately, we had to decide not to eat there as there was no way we are going to eat down three pizzas or three pasta dishes. I went back in to let this person know that we have to leave but asked him if there was somewhere this policy is mentioned ? He again rudely mentioned no discussion about it I have no issues with the restaurant having a policy but if they can mention on the menu about the sharing extra charge, then they could also mention about the timing of the day that policy is not applicable Secondly, if there is such policy they want to enforce, why would you not let this be known before guests are sitting down ? If you indicate this policy before allocating the table, then it is better for everyone. Over here, this incident gave a feeling that the waiter decided to selectively enforce this policy upon seeing the individuals. It wasn’t that the food was overly expensive, one could have easily paid for three items and three drinks but it wasn’t something we would have eaten and hence knowing about this policy would have been better Super rudeness and selective policy implementation of this kind is not something that is expected of a fine establishment. Something for people to be aware of !!!

  One star is generous. This place survives purely because it sits on the river, and the owners clearly know it, because nothing else here justifies the prices. They happily took our drink order, and only after the drinks arrived did we learn that every meat and fish dish is unavailable outside 11:30 to 13:45 and 18:00 to 21:30. Not a word of warning beforehand. So at any other time you are dumped with pizza, pasta, risotto and a sad salad, as if grown adults only ever eat carbs between lunch and dinner. Then they have the nerve to charge CHF 3 per person if you share a plate of their mediocre food. No cocktails, just the standard Aperol lineup and a wall of grappa. What we ate was bland, forgettable and overpriced, and the service treated us like an inconvenience. Below average food, below average service, zero effort, propped up by a nice view. Do yourself a favour, keep walking along the river and eat literally anywhere else.

  I’ve eaten at this restaurant many times and have always enjoyed the pizza and pasta, which made our recent visit especially disappointing. I arrived with two friends, and we waited by the entrance for someone to help us. Several staff members walked past without greeting or acknowledging us. We asked to sit at a table by the water, and one staff member (a slavic guy) said he would ask a colleague to clean it. While we were still waiting, we approached the table. A female staff member (mid 40s maybe even 50s) looked at us and said, “Yes?” When we explained that we wanted to sit there and eat, she told us, in a dismissive tone, that we could sit by the doors instead. I went back to the first staff member and asked him to speak to his colleague. He asked whether I had already spoken to her. When I said yes, he told me to ask her again, smiling as he did so. It felt as though we were being passed back and forth rather than helped. One of my friends wears a hijab. I cannot know whether that affected how we were treated, but the experience left us wondering. We felt unwelcome and belittled, and we left deeply disappointed by the service!
