Overall, we enjoyed our three-night stay at the InterContinental Genève, with just a couple of exceptions. Our room was spacious and offered a lovely view of Lake Geneva, the Jet d'Eau, and the mountains. While the bathroom was a bit cramped, we made it work. Note that the room features a stocked mini-fridge that is not complimentary, yet no prices were displayed for the items.
Each evening, we had a relaxing drink and light dinner at the bar. The bartender, Arthur, was wonderful and crafted excellent drinks.
However, the primary reason I cannot give this hotel a 5-star rating is the shower. Throughout our stay, my husband and I were randomly scalded by hot water. We tried to find a pattern to avoid it, but to no avail. It was highly unpleasant.
Additionally, guests should be aware of ongoing road construction directly outside the hotel, which starts at 06:30, Monday through Friday. We were fortunate that only one night of our stay fell into this timeframe.
I recommend waiting until the construction is finished before booking, unless you plan to be up by 06:30 anyway. As for the water temperature issues, you will have to decide if that is a dealbreaker for you.
I had a privilege of staying at this hotel to attend conference hosted at United Nations facilities.
Nice walking distance to the UN conference facility, this historic hotel offered me everything you could expect for conference attendant; from staff quality service to great food and great room.
On the ground floor there were collection of photos, who stayed this hotel and left some impact to the society.
I felt I was privileged to be able to stay in the same hotel. Little bit more group guests stayed at the hotel than I expected, but maybe it’s because of the summertime.

I visited the SPA today
When I arrived, there were 3 people at reception, but for the next two hours, no one was there.
The point of a spa is to warm up the body and provide therapy. Air conditioners are blowing everywhere, so it's cold everywhere. I started getting sick after the hammam in the relax room
I spent half an hour looking for someone in the spa, but no one was there.
Hotel guests came and asked who worked there while I was waiting at the reception.
I called the hotel reception, and they promised to send someone, but 30 minutes passed, and no one showed up.
The massage was good, but the room was completely unsuitable for relaxation, no spa lighting or decent music... music from 80s🤦🏻♀️
A 5-star hotel is a unified ensemble where the service everywhere should be 5 stars.
