When we first arrived at the hotel Sonja was very accommodating but as our 6 days here ventured further into our holiday, we found the waiter (Marc) rude and dismissive and yes he does have a petulant childish habit of rolling his eyes. It's absolutely outrageous for a hotel to employ CHILDREN to be the face of their business. We found that the hotel staff were always engaging with Swiss/ German speakers but by passed our table, forgot orders, utensils and bread!! We are visitors in your country and paying hard earned money to be treated like something you stepped in. We asked for nothing but politeness and courtesy, something the staff lack in abundance. On the day we booked out, I had the AUDACITY to go to reception (THIS IS A HOTEL) at 07.20 to pay our bill as we had an early flight and had to return our rental car to Zurich airport. Oh my god, I thought Sonja's daughter was going to bite my head off!! She made all the reasons as to why she couldn't take my payment, huffing and puffing and stomping. I politely reminded her that guests also needed to make flights and I needed to pay my bill. Some stomping and huffing later, I managed to PAY MY BILL!!! unbelievably poor behaviour and attitude towards your GUESTS!! She then pushed a bar of chocolate across the counter and said "for you thank you" I declined the chocolate as it was an embarrassing attempt to smooth over her behaviour and I'm not interested in playing silly games and being spoken to and treated so badly. The sadness though is the location is fantastic but the staff and owners who place so much emphasis on a "FAMILY BUSINESS" would be out of business if they didn't have a hotel located on the lake with mountain views. This was our first time to Switzerland and probably my last. I have spent time in many countries during my Royal Marine Commando days and with my family, travelling all over the world and I have never encountered such rudeness and poor behaviour and attitude from any other country or place I've stayed in than here. As a retired Police Sergeant in the UK I can say I've dealt with criminals with more manners and less attitude!!

EXTREMELY rude to non-german speakers.
Our waitress came up to us after we sat down only speaking in swiss german, and continued to speak in it even after we politely told her that we only spoke english. She kept acting like she didn’t understand, and then finally said “what do you want” with the menus in her hand, not allowing us to have a look at them until we asked.
She came back quickly so we asked her if we could have more time, and she rolled her eyes at us. Soon after we ordered, two of us got up to use the bathroom, and during this time she came up to us again only speaking in Swiss german and acting as if she didn’t understand our english. She once again finally decided to speak in english, asking us what we wanted, so we told her that we had already ordered which came to a shock to her. After waiting for a long time, we got melted ice cream and a vanilla milkshake that just tasted like milk.
The receipt that she gave us did not have everything we ordered, ultimately proving the carelessness and inconsideration of the staff. When attempting to correct her mistake, she stated “yes I know I made a mistake”
There was some obvious racism as she acted rudely to another table of tourists near us. She repeatedly refused to speak in english and kept acting as if she didn’t understand us. Keep in mind she was being very nice and joking around with all the german speakers near us.
Overall, the waitress was rude and extremely unwelcoming, which is disappointing considering the beautiful view and atmosphere.
horrifically terrible service. The short haired lady was completely and utterly rude upon finding out we didn’t speak german. We were not met at the entrance so we made our way in and sat down. Once the lady came to take our order she stared at us blankly and continued speaking german DESPITE HER LITERALLY SPEAKING ENGLISH. Once she finally spoke english and we finished ordering. She came back again asking us AGAIN in german what we want to order. We told her AGAIN that we do not speak german like three times before she switched to English, we explained that we already order and despite such a stupid mistake, she walked away without apologizing for her lack of memory. We received our ice creams completely melted and a vanilla frappe tasting like a plain cup of milk with black dots mimicking vanilla. She was not only rude to us but to pretty much every other foreigner in the restaurant. Do not come here and fund this racist institution.
