0/5 STARS — ONE OF THE WORST HOTEL EXPERIENCES I’VE EVER HAD
If you value your family’s safety, stay somewhere else.
Our room at the Best Western Brossard was broken into from the parking-lot side of the hotel. The door was smashed through to gain entry. This was terrifying, especially at 2 am with children sound asleep.
But the most unbelievable part was the hotel’s response.
The front-desk receptionist was told TWICE to call the police while this was happening. TWICE. Instead, the receptionist called the manager. In what world is calling a manager more urgent than calling the police when a hotel room is being forcibly broken into?
That is an embarrassing failure of judgment and emergency response.
And once the immediate danger was over, the hotel somehow managed to sink even lower.
The children were traumatized, and the staff couldn’t even be bothered to properly check on them. Not even a simple “Are the kids okay?” That level of indifference is absolutely disgusting.
We paid to stay at a hotel—not to have our room smashed into from the parking lot and then discover that the people working there apparently had no idea how to respond to a serious security emergency.
The entire situation raises serious questions about this property’s security and the training of its staff. A locked hotel room should not be treated like an unlocked shed in a parking lot.
And when something this serious happens, guests should not have to beg the front desk to call the police.
The hotel can make all the excuses it wants, but the facts of our experience remain: our room was forcibly breached, our family was terrified, our children were traumatized, and the hotel’s response was completely inadequate.
This wasn’t a bad room.
This wasn’t poor housekeeping.
This wasn’t a disappointing breakfast.
(Which are also true)
This was a serious security incident followed by an unacceptable response from hotel staff.
I wouldn’t stay here again if they gave me the room for free. There are plenty of hotels where you can spend your money without having to wonder whether your family is safe behind the door.
0/5. Absolutely disgraceful.
We stayed as part of a larger group and when booking our rooms we were provided with promotional rates and those rates were not honoured. We tried to talk to them about the rates and emails were ignored even with physical proof of incorrect billing. The cleaning staff and the initial person checking us in were very polite. But the rooms were very small especially for a ‘suite’ (a microwave is what made it a suite) we had a dumpster outside our window to boot. I would not recommend this hotel as honesty and all in all just a meh hotel. If we could have stayed elsewhere we would have.contacted best western corporate, and even with physical proof they just said ‘we contacted the hotel and we believe their staff of customer’. Definitely a sharp drop from best westerns in Europe.

I am quite disappointed with the accommodations. The room rates are excessively high for the value provided. The property features only one elevator, which creates significant logistical challenges, particularly for guests assigned to rooms on the periphery of the property, especially when managing luggage. This presented a considerable hardship for the senior members of my party. Although paid parking is available at $10 per night, the lot was at full capacity, necessitating a search for alternative parking. The front desk staff indicated a lack of disabled parking, yet upon our departure, two such spaces were observed to be vacant. Furthermore, the ongoing renovations resulted in disruptive construction noise commencing promptly at 7 AM, making it impossible to remain in bed.
Upon check-in, we were required to sign a waiver acknowledging a noise factor, which was not disclosed during the reservation process. The breakfast offerings were standard, and despite it being a weekday, the dining area was exceptionally crowded, leading to extended wait times for seating and food retrieval. However, the overall generosity of the establishment was appreciated. Given the cost, the perceived value for money, the chaotic elevator situation, and the potential necessity of a golf cart to access one's room, I am unlikely to consider a return visit.
⭐☆☆☆☆ 1 Star
Absolutely unacceptable experience at Best Western Brossard.
Our original reservation was somehow cancelled, despite nobody from our group cancelling it. After spending hours trying to sort it out, the hotel finally told us they would have another room available the following day.
When we arrived to check into that replacement room, we were given keys only to discover the room was already occupied by other guests. We walked in on people who were legitimately staying there. This was embarrassing for everyone involved and shows a serious breakdown in the hotel’s room management.
It is now 4:33 PM, and we are still waiting for a room with no clear timeline or meaningful communication from management.
This wasn’t a minor inconvenience. We drove approximately six hours to Brossard for a youth soccer tournament. Instead of preparing for the weekend, we’ve spent our time sitting in the hotel lobby waiting while the hotel tries to fix mistakes that should never have happened.
The front desk staff were rude, but the overall management and reservation system have been extremely disappointing. Giving away a confirmed reservation is one thing. Assigning us a room that was already occupied is completely unacceptable.
I would not recommend staying here unless you’re willing to risk your reservation and spend your vacation dealing with preventable hotel errors.
Extremely disappointing experience at Best Western Hotel Brossard.
We travelled as a soccer team, and one family arrived after driving approximately 9 hours only to be told their reservation had been cancelled. They received no phone call or email warning them that there was an issue. As the group booking organizer, I was not notified either. Since the hotel was sold out they were left room-less!
The following day, the hotel arranged another room for the family, but when they attempted to access it, other guests were already occupying it. By 4 p.m., the family still did not have a proper room.
There were also ongoing billing problems. It took nearly a month of repeated emails before the hotel finally acknowledged that my invoice had been overcharged and issued a refund. Parking charges also remained unresolved even though I did not have a vehicle.
To make matters worse, my room was not cleaned for 3 days, and the pullout couch was so uncomfortable that my son was left in significant pain.
Mistakes can happen, BUT, repeated reservation errors, billing problems, poor housekeeping and inadequate response from staff made this experience unacceptable. What should have been an enjoyable soccer weekend became extremely stressful for our family and team. Based on our experience, I would not recommend this hotel.
