  "Lipstick on a Pig" I am honestly gobsmacked by the positive reviews for this place and it's rating of 4+ stars. I avoid leaving negative reviews for small, independent businesses, but because this is a major brand like Best Western, and they have the hilarious audacity to call this a "Premier" location—I feel obligated to call out the misleading advertising. I want to stress that this has nothing to do with the staff at this location who aren't responsible for the upkeep of the building. Butt the fact that a major brand like Best Western, calls this Premier is nothing more than a blatant lie. We booked a three-night stay in a suite, but after arriving, we immediately booked reservations elsewhere but had to reluctantly stay for one night as everywhere else was booked. The hotel is the textbook definition of putting lipstick on a pig. In the photos (clearly taken from very convenient angles), it looks upscale. In reality, it’s just an old, run-down building masked by a quick coat of paint and some new furniture. The Reality of the Stay: * The Smell: There is an awful, overwhelming musty odor everywhere, like a wet carpet that never dried. They’ve hidden air fresheners in the hallways, which proves management knows about the issue. * The Room: The air conditioning unit is ancient and blows out musty air. The lights barely worked, one was flickering so badly it felt like we were in a horror movie. To top it off, the foam couch was unbelievably uncomfortable. The pullout couch you could feel the springs. * The Location: Our porch overlooked a sex toy shop, and the hotel itself is next to two strip clubs. There was also active drug use on the street right outside. Just two blocks away, you’ll find much nicer areas to walk in and far better hotel options. Save yourself the trouble and avoid this place entirely.

  Hotel is gedateerd. Maar personeel is zeer vriendelijk en behulpzaam. Kamers zijn netjes. Locatie downtown is verschrikkelijk in een buurt waar veel nachtleven is. De zwervers en junks lopen er veel rond. Niet iets voor gezinnen met kinderen.

  The staff at this hotel are beyond compare. Busy hectic FIFA week and they stood the line and went beyond. Great directions, advice, help with transportation, clean, quiet, and convenient

  We had a wonderful stay at Best Western Premier Chateau Granville in Vancouver, Canada. The staff were incredibly friendly, welcoming, and always willing to help. They gave us great advice on places to visit, directions around the city, and frequently checked in to make sure we were enjoying our stay. Our room was spotless, comfortable, and had stunning views of the city. It was the perfect place to relax after a day of exploring Vancouver. The only downside was that there wasn’t a complimentary breakfast, which would have made the stay even better. Overall, we had a fantastic experience and would definitely stay here again the next time we visit Vancouver. Highly recommended!
