Located outside of the city, seemed a little run-down of an area. Hotel itself was ok, but slightly old feeling.

Title: Extreme Health Hazard & Foul Sweat Odor – Made 3 Guests Sick I had an awful stay at Best Western Plus Kamloops (Room 216, Sept 8–10, 2026). The moment we entered, the entire room and all the bedding were filled with a suffocating, unbearable stench of trapped stale sweat, body odor, and mildew. I asked for replacement pillowcases on night one and a full sheet change on night two, but the "fresh" bedding reeked EXACTLY the same. The smell filled the entire room. Because the bedding was so horribly smelly, none of the 3 guests in our room could bear to cover ourselves with the blankets for two nights, causing all 3 of us to fall sick with severe colds and respiratory infections after checking out. On check-out morning, the female manager inspected the room and acknowledged the stench, but arrogantly refused accountability. She claimed she worked there for 15 years, insisted that this stale sweat odor is their "normal standard scent," and absurdly blamed "Canadian environmental regulations" for the smell. Getting sick from an unhygienic, foul-smelling room at a 3.5-star hotel is completely unacceptable. I demand a thorough corporate investigation into this property’s hygiene standards and management conduct. UPDATE in response to GM Jen: The GM’s response is factually false and a complete cover-up. If the stench was merely "environmental detergent," why did three grown adults have to refrain from using the blankets for two nights and fall ill with respiratory infections? Claiming three staff members smelled nothing is pure gaslighting. Overwhelming stale sweat is NOT a standard cleaning product scent. This proves management prioritizes deflecting responsibility over guest health. The official corporate complaint remains filed.

Check-in was super pleasant, beds are cozy, quiet close toilet seat was a bonus! The spread at breakfast is incredible! Quiet and comfortable. We will be back for sure.
