  I really loved my first few visits here but I don't think I'll be back again. My two biggest complaints is that the breakfast used to be included. It was suddenly removed from the offered services with no warning and the price is not competitive enough to be worth purchasing the add on package. This to me was dishonest marketing because at the time of booking it was listed as continental breakfast, but going back to my confirmation email it had changed to restaurant on site. The second complaint is that there is no oversight at the pool. Some guests were treating it like a bath, didn't rinse off before going in, didn't follow occupancy limits and staff did nothing. The other new policy is you have to schedule your time to use the pool. I didn't know about this new rule until the end of my visit as it wasn't explained or posted anywhere. The hotel lobby coffee was nice, but only if you get to it before the city bus drivers because it doesn't get replaced after they empty it. (it's nice that they do this, I just think it should be refilled more often) (Yes the room has a kcup machine, but if you've seen the social media posts about how people use them for laundry you're probably going to avoid it as well) I also didn't like the community soap in the room, there was no security features on the bottles. Overall, the staff were lovely the whole time, the location is convenient, and the bed was clean. However the apparent change in management and policies means I no longer recommend this location.

  ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ After an incredibly stressful experience elsewhere, the staff at Best Western Plus Port O’Call Hotel completely turned our day around. We arrived as a large group needing a last-minute booking, and instead of making us feel like an inconvenience, the staff were incredibly patient, kind, and accommodating. They gave us the time and space we needed to sort everything out and even allowed us to stay in the downstairs common area for several hours while we finalized our arrangements. Every staff member we interacted with was polite, professional, and genuinely eager to help. Their excellent customer service and understanding made a difficult situation so much easier, and we were truly grateful for their hospitality. It’s rare to come across a team that goes above and beyond the way they did. We can’t thank them enough for their patience and compassion. I would absolutely recommend this hotel to anyone looking for outstanding service and a welcoming atmosphere.

  We had a horrible experience at a Calgary hotel with Express MacLeod in the name, when traveling with a group of teens. (See previous review). Well after that fell through we ended up at Port O'Call and since that other hotel canceled our stay and kept our money we were out $1900 without a credit card to put 8 hotels rooms on. While our organization figured out the situation we ran into a lot of complications with the business card, addresses not matching, etc. The staff here were SO nice. We had to wait in the lobby for 3 hours (not their fault), but they were so patient and welcoming. The facilities were spotlessly clean, with a WAY BETTER pool than the dud. Seriously there are two watersides-- I wasn't sure we'd get the kids out. The jets in the tub were a nice bonus! And great water pressure. We will book here every time we are in Calgary for years to come. And you've made a lasting impression on 20+ grads who I hope will remember O'Call whenever theyre in town.

  We had a wonderful experience staying at the Best Western Plus in Calgary. From the moment we checked in, the friendly staff made us feel incredibly welcome with their warm and accommodating service. The entire property was exceptionally clean and well-maintained. The amenities were great the underground parking , indoor pool area was sparkling clean, and the entire facility felt so organized and smoothly run. To top it all off, the complimentary morning breakfast was absolutely top-notch with a fantastic variety of fresh, hot options. It’s the perfect place to stay when visiting Calgary, and we will definitely be back!

  Super nice hotel! Rooms were spacious and clean. Enjoyed still having mini bottles of toiletries rather than larger bottles. The pool with slides was super fun. You do have to book a time slot during peak times so that was a bit of a drag. However, definitely go to the secondary pool in the lower level by the gym! The gym was great with nice new equipment! The restaurant/lounge was good. Drinks decently priced. They ran out of cash so we couldn’t play VLTs as we wouldn’t be able to be paid out? We also loved the free underground parking. Made us feel more secure! Was fun to watch the planes flyover and had a great view of downtown/the rockies. Overall, great stay!
