BW has been my go to hotel wherever we travel. The breakfast experience at this location was by far the most ridiculous I have experienced. It reminded me of watching puppies eating from the same bowl in a closet. Overcrowded,no taste to the main dishes, had to wait too long to replace the oatmeal. They should remove the PLUS from this Best Western.
Cancelled our second night, never to return.
We generally choose Best Western brand hotels because we like many of the features. This one didn't quite live up to our expectations, however. It may seem like a minor thing, but I can't drink coffee so I look forward to the machine in the lobby for the fantastic hot chocolate. This is the 2nd Best Western on our trip where it was out of order. The coffee in room was okay for my husband but there was no type of creamer available. The beds were reasonably comfortable, but a little firm for old bones. The room was clean and the shower was good. I was a little surprised that with a 3 pm check in time we had to wait another hour for our room to be finished. We were fortunate that we had booked 2 rooms for our family and could wait with the kids in their room for our room to be ready. A plus is how close it is to everything in Banff.
I had a very disappointing experience during my recent stay at Best Western. I brought my shoes into the room myself when I checked in, but by the next morning, they were completely missing. I thoroughly checked the room before checking out, and there was no sign of them.
This raises serious concerns about room security and housekeeping practices. Losing personal belongings inside a hotel room is unacceptable and made my stay stressful and frustrating.
I would strongly recommend the management investigate this issue and improve their procedures to ensure guests’ belongings are safe. Unfortunately, this experience has affected my trust, and I would think twice before staying here again.

I was pleasantly surprised by this hotel! The staff were super friendly and accommodating. They let us check in early and were always happy to provide towels for the pool etc. The room had clearly been recently renovated, and was huge. I was impressed with the included breakfast too. It was the perfect family hotel.
Be aware. This is an older hotel sandwiched into what is some very expensive real estate.
1. The hotel has free parking, but it is underground parking with space for only 80% of the guests (per front desk). You then have to find a spot on the street, which could be hundreds of yards away. There is no surface parking lot. And if you have a roof box or large vehicle you won't fit in the garage.
2. The breakfast area is the smallest and most crowded of any I have seen. The food is standard eggs and sausage etc. And it will spill into the lobby due to crowding. I bought my own breakfast food and ate in my room. You will be rubbing elbows with other guests if your timing is off. And be prepared for LOTS of kids
3. The pool is very small and easily gets crowded. I don't like a hot tub with 6 people in it, and don't forget all the kids.
The lobby is very small but the staff was friendly, the room OK and clean. But the pricing was quite expensive, probably due to it being Easter weekend. I can't imagine what it is like in the summer when Banff really gets crowded.
I would not stay there again. In fact Banff itself seems like a classic tourist trap with TONS of people milling about.
Definitely not up to expectations. The Best Western Plus in Revelstoke is a MUCH better hotel.
