  This place is a scam with the deposit. There is all this up and down about it where they said it gets held but on the app and in person they specifically say the $200 will get returned. They told me our was released on the 7 of April burger a rep said it was included when rental was extended blah blah no way will I rent from them again they are horrible misleading and I’m going to keep pursuing the money.

  I was one of the last customers at the Tucson location arriving around 10 pm. There was one party ahead of me and we both experienced great Customer service from Fidel. Because I would be returning the car very early the following week, he expertly explained the return process which helped greatly. Taking the time to inform me of my options was a very great touch to excellent customer service, mahalo SIXT and Fidel for establishing a great base for future SIXT rental experiences.

  Absolute worst company/location. Consumers BEAWARE. Rented and prepaid for a car last week. On reservation they asked for flight information "in case of delay". Well, flight was delayed and I arrived to counter at 10.15p. Apparently they left at 10p sharp. Called customer service and was told, "sorry nothing we can do for you, come back tomorrow". I asked if I was supposed to sleep on the airport floor and was told, "thats up to you". Ran to all the open counters Avis/Herts/Enterprise, all stated they were sold out for walk ups. Got online and was able to book through the Enterprise App, and the counter accepted it ($430), after prepaying $178 with Sixt. Next day called SIXT for refund and told "sorry you booked 3d party so we can't refund you". Called the booking company "sorry SIXT doesn't offer refunds on prepaid reservations". Was told the site manager would call me back on "Monday", its Wednesday and still no call. Put in a formal complaint through AMEX to get my money back. Even when I do, Im out the additional cost of rental, and the time going back and forth and the frustration.

  Worst service ever. Got a smaller vehicle than what purchased. Purchased a full size Toyota Camry or the same but instead received a compact Nissan Sentra. Employee claimed he had nothing else and couldn’t work with me. Vehicle had damages I explained to lot attendant. Sticker on plate looked expired because it was March 13th, license plate had march 2026. The small Sentra vehicle had panel missing and window chips for days and alignment issues. Called to report issue. Now I’m being charged 800 and some other charges that car should have been checked properly. I rent vehicles regularly and this place has brought clear disappointment. Seems I was set up from the start. To put the cherry on top I was told at the end I should purchase an insurance cause the other ones I have could be useless. Bad experience for my family vacation.

  This will be my first and last time renting from Sixt. I’m a Corporate Travel Manager and periodically test different vendors to evaluate the experience. I reserved a Toyota Tacoma for 3 days at $62/day. The representative at pickup was friendly and helpful, but that’s where the positives end. I requested a larger vehicle to accommodate golf clubs. The only options available were a Ford Explorer or a Toyota Grand Highlander. After some discussion, I was “upgraded” for an additional $56/day. I was in a rush and didn’t push back, but in hindsight, that upgrade cost is unreasonable. The Explorer I received was very basic, had an unpleasant smell, and—more importantly—had a large, visible dent on the side that I didn’t notice at pickup. I returned immediately. The staff confirmed the damage was already documented, but that raises a larger issue: why is a visibly damaged vehicle being rented at all, especially at a premium price point? They then switched me to a Grand Highlander. Unfortunately, this vehicle was worse. It had a strong odor (similar to vinegar) that made it uncomfortable to drive, and it also had visible exterior damage. At that point, I didn’t have time to continue exchanging vehicles and had to proceed. For roughly $400 over 3 days, the condition and quality of both vehicles were unacceptable. I will not rent from Sixt again, and we have removed them from our company’s preferred vendor list. If you’re choosing between rental companies, go with National.
