In the 1960s, Founder Glenn Napierskie saw many visitors to Jackson Hole sleeping in their cars. He built The Virginian Lodge as a place for these families to stay, have fun, and build memories. Today, the same holds true. We want the travelers, drifters, locals, and adventure seekers who pull into our lodge to feel well taken care of and welcome to enjoy all that the area has to offer. At The Virginian, we create opportunities for people to come together and make unique and lasting memories. We help keep the spirit of the West alive, keep people dreaming, and keep people coming back.
Most guests praised the cleanliness of the rooms and common areas, noting well-maintained facilities.

For a property marketed as a 4-star hotel, the experience was extremely disappointing and far below expectations.
The biggest issue was the service. The staff was consistently unfriendly and unpleasant throughout our stay. When I asked the front desk for help regarding the amenities, the front desk manager responded in an annoyed and unprofessional manner, saying, “What do you want me to do about it?”, a very bizarre and unacceptable interaction.
The room conditions were also a major problem. The heater in my room was broken, had a large hole in it, and was extremely loud. It had only two settings, blasting hot air or cold air, with no way to regulate the temperature. Sleeping was very difficult due to the noise and excessive heat. Turning it off was not a realistic option either, as nighttime temperatures dropped below 6°F and the room quickly became cold.
Several advertised amenities were unavailable. The outdoor pool was closed for the winter, and the hot tub was broken for the entire five-night stay. The water was slightly warm, and the jets did not work at all. So after skiing all day there was no option to decompress the muscles.
The property itself does not resemble a hotel. It is essentially a motel on a side of the road, with rooms facing the parking lot and random cars parked directly outside the rooms, offering little to no privacy.
There are also no fitness or spa facilities, which is questionable for a place advertised as a 4-star hotel.
Overall, the experience was very disappointing.

I found the Virginian Lodge on TikTok when looking for a one night stay in Jackson. I am so so glad we stayed. The lodge is adorable and so well kept up. The lobby was so cozy with 24/7 tea, coffee and hot cocoa. The front desk attendants were so kind and lovely. The beds and shower were AMAZING. the rooms were so homey and the perfect place to stay in Jackson!!

Stayed in the RV park so didn’t get to experience the rooms but got to have a go at all the amenities. Wish I could give 6 stars!

My friend and I ended our trip at the Virginian Lodge and it was the best experience, and best stay of our time going through Yellowstone and Grand Tetons. It felt like a luxurious pit stop and the best reward at the end of a long road trip. The 1-star reviews for this accommodation are crazy to me.
We really liked how clean, modern, and comfortable it is. Most places which undergo a refurbishment and try to do the boutique hotel feel fail badly, but not Virginian Lodge. We were most pleased with the beds which were clean and comfy, and even had nice Pendleton blankets, and the toilets which were ALSO clean with the bonus of being large. The amenities were real nice. Loved the mint/chamomile soaps, the kettle was a good brand (Fellow), and the teas were not the cheap sort (or at least didn't taste like it).
Sure, it has a 'motel vibe' from the outside (we were skeptical at first) but we sure loved rocking up and parking the car right outside our room! The common areas were also clean, pleasing, and aesthetic. We had smores on our last night which was fun.
Highly recommend. If I am ever in Jackson Hole again, will definitely look forward to staying in Virginian Lodge.
