  Sheets and pillow cases were stained. Mattress was stained. Crumbs on the chair. Stains on shower wall. Only had 1 towel for 2 people. Another room complained of ants while we were getting breakfast. Breakfast was not as great as other holiday inn express'. This holiday inn express was not as great as the others i have stayed in over the past couple years.

  We had a wonderful experience staying here with our children. Hotel was incredibly clean, updated and the staff was very friendly. We were impressed by the breakfast selections. Only negative feedback was the pool was absolutely freezing.

  Short version: Pet friendly, clean, comfortable, definitely recommend. Long version: We stopped here with our dog for one night while driving from NC to OH. I was getting very worried reading the reviews for the other pet-friendly hotels in the Charleston area on our drive - all of them seemed to have a few recent reviews with reports of mold, bad smells, or bed bugs. We were starting to think we would just have to make the drive straight through when we finally found this hotel (it's a little off the highway, so hadn't come up in our original search). We are so happy we stopped here. Jean at the front desk was SO friendly when we checked in around 9 pm. I have never felt so welcomed at a hotel, but she also was definitely cognizant of the fact that it was late and we were tired, and she was very quick to get us our keys and give us directions to our room. Our room had absolutely no smell at all and was spotless (bathroom, sheets, towels, fridge, microwave, I mean everything). Our dog barely even sniffed around the room before getting in his crate and going to sleep - a testament to how there weren't even smells interesting to a dog in the room! The Keurig was well stocked and even had a decaf tea, which was such a nice touch. The AC unit worked well and was quiet. The bed was comfortable. The water pressure in the shower was good. I used the gym in the morning before leaving, and it was small (3 machines plus some weights) but totally workable. In the morning, we realized the area was surrounded by restaurants and shopping. We became IHG members because of this one night alone. We don't have a single complaint, and as we make this drive multiple times a year, we will definitely be back.
