  Such a charming hotel for our first visit to Morgantown!! Our room was beautiful & very clean - loved the bar & open area in the lobby - lots of character & historic vibe! Food & drinks were delicious! Would definitely visit again 😊.

  We recently stayed at Hotel Morgan, and it was an excellent experience overall. Even though it’s part of Wyndham Hotels & Resorts, the property truly feels like a boutique hotel. The vibe is upscale and intimate, with a beautifully executed vintage remodel and impressive attention to detail throughout the decor. The hotel was completely sold out during our stay due to WVU men's basketball game. In addition to hosting fans, the hotel hosted the visiting team, BYU. There was also a milestone birthday party taking place in the event space. Despite how busy things were, the service never felt rushed. The front desk greeted us with a welcome bag and even provided a complimentary valet ticket — a thoughtful touch that set the tone for the weekend. The on-site bar and restaurant, Anvil + Ax, has a fantastic atmosphere and decor that perfectly complements the hotel’s aesthetic. The menu looked great for dining; however, both dinner and breakfast service were unavailable during our stay. There was a sign posted in the lobby explaining the closure. I completely understand why dining service was paused, given the large special event that clearly involved extensive catering. Fortunately, there are walkable dining options nearby — including Iron Horse Tavern directly across the street. That said, it would have been helpful to know in advance that dining services would not be available. Aside from that minor inconvenience, it was truly a wonderful stay. The location is ideal — about half a mile from the waterfront dining area — and some rooms even offer river views. It also seems like a fantastic venue for indoor events such as milestone birthday celebrations or a winter wedding. Overall, Hotel Morgan delivers a distinctive boutique feel with upscale vintage charm, attentive service, and a prime downtown location. We would absolutely stay again.

  Room was very nice although sound proofing needs improved. I could hear conversations from an adjoining room - normal conversational tone, no yelling. And there is a nearby train track which is very loud.
