  We were traveling from North Carolina to Indiana when we experienced car troubles and ended up having to stay the night in the area. Our company put us up at this hotel, Holiday Inn Express Winfield. We had spent the last month living out of various hotels, so we had experienced highs and lows - this hotel is definitely high on our list. The parking lot in front is small - there is parking in the back, but it didn't appear to have a convenient entrance in the rear of the building. The hotel was very clean, comfortable, and seemed modern compared to what we have been experiencing. There were plenty of different lighting options in our room which was helpful. There was a wall thermostat which worked well. The beds, sheets, and pillows were luxurious. It was such a treat to be in a bed that was quiet - when you roll over, the springs don't creak and groan. We appreciated that the sink was actually in the bathroom and not one of those situations where it's outside. The bathroom was a nice size with a great big counter and a ventilation/exhaust fan. Noise wise - we didn't hear much from the other rooms or from the hallways. The fitness center here was one of the best ones we have encountered yet. It's not a big space but they had a treadmill, elliptical, stationary bike, weight bench, full set of dumbbells, exercise ball, bosu balance trainer, mats, television, and a beam scale. There is a thermostat in the room and it functions very well. The room has a window that looks into the indoor pool. It's in a good location - there are stores across the way and a nearby gas station and little Arby's. In the morning there is a good, well attended breakfast. Eggs, various meats, pastries, bagels, yogurt, cereal, pancake maker, and of course juice and coffee. We had not encountered this type of coffee maker at any of the other hotels we had stayed at the past month - it appears to actually grind the beans and make the coffee fresh. They had a nice tea selection, different creamers, various sweeteners, and half & half. Employees were all very nice and helpful. We would definitely stay here again!

  This place became a blessing and an oasis in an ice storm that forced me off the freeway for the night, and it was the last chance for a hotel as I was traveling toward central Ohio that night. There is NOTHING between Here and Chillicothe… that said, the room was great, the pool was a wonderful 92 degrees Fahrenheit, the service was excellent, and the exit provided a plethora of quality restaurants. I can’t say enough about how much I enjoyed this hotel after a horrible day of driv
