Firstly, I am having chronic health issues and wanted to take my kids swimming to give them a break from dealing with my illness. Booked the room on a 3rd party site and paid. Get to the hotel (I do want to say that the receptionist at the desk was extremely pleasant kind and this is not at all a reflection of her) and am told I can’t use my debit card, the same card I booked the room with, to put a “deposit” down. The only debit card I have. Was also informed it would be $100 deposit because I am a “local” .. what does that matter I’m Not allowed to use a hotel close to my house for a pool or I have to pay more? Then when I let them know that I have no other card and cant pay the extra $100 that I wasn’t aware of, they say there’s nothing they can do and I may not be able to get a refund. So not only am I not able to work, taking care of 2 kids trying to do something nice for them, I am now out $163 that they won’t return.
