I booked this at the last minute without researching or reading reviews. But I hadn't been to this casino in a long time and wanted to be close. Check-in was quick and painless and the staff were professional and friendly. The problems happened when I got to the room. The bathroom sink was visibly dirty. There was used toothpaste in the sink. Really? That's not really hard to miss if you're cleaning a place, especially when the toothpaste is a bright blue, which clearly stands out on a white porcelain sink. This immediately made me question how well the room was cleaned overall.
Another problem I encountered was with the TV remote. The remote didn't work at all. The batteries were good (I checked). Not the end of the world, but after a long day, being unable to relax and watch TV without troubleshooting the thing and calling the front desk is frustrating.
The room itself was otherwise fine, but cleanliness and working amenities are non-negotiable. I expected better attention to detail from the main casino hotel.

Be cautious when booking a room here; they charge an "amenity fee," which some staff even referred to as a resort fee. It feels like a deceptive way for them to extract more money from you. Consider staying at a nearby hotel that is upfront about its fees. I called to inquire about it, but no one had a clear answer as to what it is for, and they refused to remove it. This is not a resort; they don't offer anything beyond a standard hotel. This is a junk fee!

Booked an early check in online but wheni arrived at 1:00 the front desk said that they han no record of it. Asked to speak to the manager. When she came out she did not seem to care, stated that she could charge me the fee and get me in when a room became available. Kept saying "well early check in is from 12:00 to to 3:00 whenever a room becomes available. It's not guarenteed." She charged me then did not get me into a room till about 2:00. I booked a non-smooking room but the entire hallway and room smelled of both cigarettes and pot. To top it off, at 10:45am housekeeping started pounding on the door and yelling something about the laundry. On check out I informed the front desk, the front desk clerk said she would check into it but, once again, seemed very unconcerned. If you stay in Charles Town, book a different hotel. Do not stay at the Inn.

Warning: do not stay here if you are sensitive to fragrances or stream shows when you travel! I will explain.
I stayed here because it was cheap with no interest in the casino. Booked through a 3rd party with points. That was my first mistake!
Upon arrival, I noticed some things were off. First, the common areas feature inhumane levels of fragrance. It smacks you upon arrival, like the heat when opening an oven. I will have to check but I suspect this level of olfactory assault violates the Geneva Convention's ban on torture. 🤣 I am sensitive to such things and got a migraine from the smell and nearly vomited. It's so strong it leaks into the rooms becoming inescapable. I really wonder what other smells they are concealing with this. 🤨
Next, there is the subject of the “amenities fee.”. Because I booked third party with points, this fee was undisclosed to me and not agreed to, yet upon arrival it was added to the deposit. In fact, the booking confirmation email states this fee does not apply because I booked online. When I protested, nothing was done. Hours on the phone, online, and at the front desk achieved nothing. I was told to call back in the morning and speak to a manager. Mercifully, the next morning, when I pointed out that the fee was represented in the receipt to be for sales tax, and a points stay is exempt from such, it was finally refunded to me. Perhaps this is unique to me as I booked third party with points, but be careful!!
Some other grievances: my room’s thermostat did not work. I set the heat to 66 and was sweating, so I set it to 61 and there is no way they temperature was achieved. Between this and the odor and migraine it caused, I only slept for maybe 90 minutes.
The rooms are extremely dated and need modernization. I don't think they've been changed since the casino opened. For example, the TVs have no way to access streaming apps. I get it, they want you there with nothing to do but lose money at the casino, but it's 2025 and this is standard for most hotels at this level. They also replace the TV’s remotes with universal remotes to prevent you from changing the input on the TV in order to use your own streaming device or game system.
Absolute worst hotel night of my life. I cannot recommend staying here unless you have anosmia or have no other option. In hindsight, sleeping in my car would have been preferable.
