Despite setting the thermostat to 65°F, the room remained at 77–78°F throughout the night, making it very difficult to sleep. In addition to the heat, we were kept awake by a crying baby in a nearby room, as well as constant stomping from the room above us. We understand that some noise is normal in any hotel, but the level and duration of the noise were excessive and made it nearly impossible for our family to rest. We also noticed a bright spotlight shining directly into the room, even with the curtains fully closed. The light bled through the gaps and contributed further to our inability to sleep. Another concerning issue was the strong smell of smoke coming from the bathroom, despite this being a non-smoking room. This was especially troubling because we had our children with us. Finally, when I checked out, I requested a printed receipt for my records but was refused, being told this was because I had booked “through Expedia.” I did not book via Expedia; I booked the room through my American Express rewards, and I should have been able to receive a receipt regardless.
