I love almost everything about the Tru brand of the Hilton group.
The front desk staff are generally courteous and professional if a little laid-back. The lobby area is family friendly if a bit chaotic sometimes.
The rooms are airy, well lit, with contemporary and sleek lighting and other fixtures. What I like best about the Tru brand is the open plan shelving. There are no dank closets, no dark corners, and or faulty hinges. There are open hooks for jackets and a steel post with hangars for clothes.
The best feature is the bathroom. The shower is a walk-in stall appointed with squeeze bottles for shampoo, conditioners, and body wash. The sink also has a squeeze container for body lotion.
A tiny ledge inside the shower stall shows attention to detail for those of us who need to prop a foot up. There are enough PowerPoints to charge devices and light fixtures on either side of the beds. The floors are fake or genuine hardwood. No carpets anywhere in the room.
The lobby area has plenty of seating options - pods, tables, high tops, and booth-like nooks.
A big two thumbs up for this location in Wisconsin Dells.

The rooms were mostly clean, just the shower seemed to have the starts of the orange looking sort of mold along the caulking. The pillows absolutely sucked and had no shape to them, I'm not even exaggerating, they would completely crumple and have no support. I wouldn't even consider them a "soft" pillow they were so awful, don't even consider that any sort of firm pillow is an option. The bed was a spring bed and made sounds when you moved. The corners on the fitted sheets constantly kept coming off and you could not get them to stay; they just weren't deep enough.
The temperature of the room was just ok. When the heat turned on it was extremely hot to where it was uncomfortable, but also when the heat was not running it was so cold; there was never really a comfortable temperature. It was not stuffy or humid though, which I am grateful for.
The soap and shampoo were incredibly drying. The towels were clean. The only housekeeping is every other day for only new towels.
The location was close enough to the Kalahari convention center for me. I wouldn't personally walk it, but theoretically you could. Surprisingly, there are actually some uber/lyft drivers available in the area. The area seems very safe. There's some food options across main road.
There are other similarly priced hotels in the area. I would not stay here again.
