the gateway to cranberry country.....
welcome to the Hampton Inn-Tomah.
Midway between Milwaukee and the Twin Cities, not far from Amish Country and the famous cranberries of nearby Warrens, the area that the Hampton Inn® Tomah hotel calls home boasts a fascinating history and an abundance of activities sure to please even the most avid of outdoor enthusiasts.
Catch a sunset over Lake Tomah as you splash in the water, do some fishing or go boating. Pedal along the Elroy-Sparta Bike Trail and check out the old railroad tunnels! Stroll along the Tomah Recreational Trail and be sure to pack a picnic lunch to enjoy at Veteran’s or Butt’s park. When winter arrives, you’ll be just minutes from Whitetail Ridge, boasting snowmobiling, skiing and more. Step into the past in Amish Country, with its horse-drawn buggies and lovely quilts— it’s just southwest of our Tomah, Wisconsin hotel.
Be sure to check out downtown’s “Gasoline Alley,” made famous in the comic strip by cartoonist and native son Frank King. Cranberries are also “King” here in Wisconsin—experience them at the Wisconsin Cranberry Discovery Center or the Warrens Cranberry Festival.

We visit family in Tomah a couple times a year and Hampton Inn is our go-to place to stay. The rooms are spacious and clean. The staff has always been kind and accommodating. The breakfast area is kept clean and stocked with hot foods, pastries, cereals and fruit. It feels like home away from home and we look forward to our stay every time.

"We can enter your room whenever we feel necessary." - Front Desk Clerk
Housekeeping entered my room while I had a DND sign hanging on my door and I was away from the hotel. This has happened before at other hotels and is promptly corrected by notifying the staff of the privacy violation. However, this is the first time I was disrepectfully told by staff that they may enter my room under the blanket claim of "health and safety" at any time. THIS IS NOT ACCEPTABLE.
I have electronics that I do not want stolen or tampered with, so I need to have predictable time frames to work around protecting my belongings. Not to mention, IT IS UNLAWFUL to make such erroneous claims--especially when housekeeping had just entered my room 24hrs prior and again--a DND sign was clearly hanging on my door.
I did not escalate to management because it is the Holiday Season and the last thing I want on my conscious is getting a staff member fired during December. Instead, I immediately checked out and went to the Holiday Inn next door--who's staff validated this violation of my personal privacy rights.

Thos Hampton is located near plenty of restaurants and a Walmart for those forgotten items. Rooms are clean, staff friendly, and breakfast had plenty of choices. The only downside for me is the bed is extra firm causing a sore back and a rough night of sleep.
