- JPJosh PFeb 22, 20262.0I stay at a lot of Best Westerns when traveling around Wisconsin for work. They’re typically a pretty positive experience. Plover however has to be one of the worst hotels of any brand I’ve stayed at unfortunately. The company even sprang for a higher quality room due to the trip being last minute. From the breakfast bar being filthy from the previous day/days and being late, to the jetted tub in my room actually having cracks that leaked water onto the tile. My sheets were stained and the pillows had the smell of sweat. Do yourself a favor and stay somewhere in Stevens point. The gentleman behind the desk couldn’t be bothered to help or answer questions outside of his requirement to check me in and out. The phone in my room went unanswered when trying to request a clean set of sheets. Context to add: I went down to breakfast at 0610 on a Friday morning and was the first one there. There was nothing set out at that point and the deplorable cleanliness was as photos show. The orange juice in that catch was moldy and moved like gelatin. There was nobody behind the desk and the Indian gentleman didn’t begin setting anything it till about 0645, everything he did set out came out of the microwave in the breakfast bar area and was still cold.
