We just left the St. Kate Hotel after a two night stay Friday and Saturday night. The first night, the stay was good. Room was clean and the only thing we missed was better lighting, the room is pretty dark. The 2nd night on floor 8 was terrible. We returned to the room about 9pm after enjoying some drinks at the Upper Bar. Once we stepped off the elevator into our floor, we were hit with a smell of Marijuana. It was a slight odor, it was to the point where you couldn't even breathe. We got to our room and it was OK in our room until about 11pm. After that, we couldn't breathe in our room either and it was a terribly long night until we fell asleep at about 4am once the smell dissipated a bit. We checked out at 8am and just returned home. We did bring this to the front desks attention and were told security was aware. I don't think we will return here as we have not experienced something like this in our stays at the other very well known, higher end hotel in Milwaukee. We tried Saint Kate for the first time and left with a headache, feeling ill from the smell and now having to wash all our clothes including coats to get the horrid smell out. Again, this wasn't just some scent, these people had to be smoking blunt after blunt, it was pure smoke everywhere. Very disappointed and would recommend staying someplace that invests in smoking sensors to prevent this experience.

Had a “staycation” at Saint Kate...really neat way to be a tourist in your own city. Saint Kate has a lot of charm and offers easy access to much of downtown Milwaukee. It’s right across from the Marcus Center for the Performing Arts and not far from Fiserv Forum. “Art-themed” is an understatement. They have an entire art gallery inside, and it looks like they even have a resident artist working on-site. Two bars, a pizza restaurant, rooms with record players, and friendly staff give this place a really cool vibe. Definitely worth staying at — whether you’re in town for business, pleasure, or just want to get away without leaving your own city.

We had a good stay we will never return and the reason is the scent that they spray at the lobby bar area and the outside of the building toward the parking elevators. Very overwhelming perfume so if you are sensitive to smells and perfumes this is not for you. I have severe migraines and this place was very uncomfortable. One more thing that made us not like this place was the pet policy. A tag on our door saying a pet stayed there made us feel icky. We tried to get a drink twice at the bar and was not fun with the smell and the very high level of the music, impossible to have a conversation with the live music on a open concept bar like this one. The location is good not too far from the museums and downtown-third ward. Every one we dealt with was super nice. Shout out to Lennox. We had an issue with the parking and I texted him but I had no signal so I had to call and it was a hot mess but he got us through.

This jewel is located in the theatre district in Milwaukee (a couple blocks away from Old St. Mary's Catholic Church). I stopped in for brunch at the Saint Kate Hotel and stepped inside the Studio restaurant for brunch. I ordered the egg white omlette and substituted the potatoes for the grits. It was amazing. Don't forget to ask for Ruben and order the bay breeze mocktail.

Spacious room, comfortable bed. Love that when you check in they give you a glass of wine. The bar downstairs is a vibe and stays busy but did not disturb the quietness when I was in my room. Loved the art area in the hotel, I got to meet a local artist. This hotel is located near a lot of restaurants and stores within walkable distance. I parked the rental car and basically walked everywhere.
