I recently had the opportunity to attend a four-day conference at the wonderful Saint Kate Arts Hotel, and I truly can’t say enough good things about my experience.
From the moment you walk in, the hotel makes an impression. The space is absolutely stunning - artsy, vibrant, and eclectic in the best possible way. It feels thoughtfully designed and full of personality, which made the entire stay feel inspiring and unique.
The service was exceptional throughout my visit. Nacho at the front desk was incredibly kind and welcoming during check-in, and he went above and beyond again on my third night when I needed help with a time-sensitive request. His willingness to help and positive attitude made a huge difference and did not go unnoticed.
The rooms were spacious and comfortable, and I really appreciated that housekeeping stopped by daily to tidy up the room. It’s one of those small touches that makes a stay feel extra cared for.
I also have to mention the coffee, because it was that good. The coffee served both at the bar and at the restaurant on the second floor was delicious. We learned they use beans from a local roastery, and honestly, it was so good that there was no need to leave the hotel for a great cup of coffee.
Another standout was Ruben at the downstairs bar. With so many of us attending the conference and constantly coming and going, he remained kind, professional, and incredibly patient while taking food and drink orders. His service was top-notch.
Overall, the hospitality from the entire Saint Kate team was wonderful, especially while hosting the conference I attended. I would absolutely stay here again and look forward to returning in the future.

I booked Saint Kate because a friend described it as "a hotel that actually has a personality" and that turned out to be exactly right. You walk in and there's a bronze horse statue in the lobby, live music already going, and a gift shop with things you actually want to look at. It takes about thirty seconds to realize this is not a standard downtown hotel stay. The room had a record player with a small vinyl selection, a ukulele hanging on the wall, colored pencils and a sketchbook on the desk, and original artwork that came with a little pamphlet explaining the artists. None of it felt gimmicky. It felt like someone thought carefully about every object in the space and then put it there on purpose. The bed was genuinely comfortable and the room was quiet, which matters more than the fun stuff when it's actually time to sleep. We ate at Proof Pizza one night, which is their counter-service spot on the ground floor. Neapolitan style, well done, good for a casual meal without leaving the building. The Upper Bar on the roof has river views and is worth at least one drink just to sit up there. We also had breakfast at The Studio and the sourdough alone was worth coming down for.The location puts you close to the theater district, the RiverWalk, Fiserv Forum, all of it. Walkable in a way that downtown Milwaukee doesn't always get credit for. Staff was warm from check-in through checkout, and they handed us champagne when we arrived which set the tone.If you're going to Milwaukee and you care even a little about design or art or just staying somewhere that feels distinct, this is the one.

I had locked up cool pet friendly hotels in Milwaukee for my 30th birthday and the Saint Kate hotel caught my eye. I loved the fact they had record players in each room, along with a ukulele. Each room was decorated with care, instead of just being a plain hotel room. Staying at the Saint Kate was everything I hoped for. I loved the art pieces around the hotel, and the live music in the lobby. For my 30th Birthday the staff even sent up a little gift along with a whole bottle of champagne. I got breakfast the next morning at the 2nd floor restaurant, and the food was great. I highly recommend staying here.

Was very happy to spend my wedding night in this hotel. It’s very special to my wife and it certainly lived up to expectations.
Tobi at the front desk set the tone immediately by being very welcoming and happy to help us as we checked in. Checking on my emails, she was also the person who answered my email about making the visit nice for my wife, and entering our room we were not disappointed. Thank you very much.
We went to the lobby bar twice and were taken extremely good care of by Lisa and Ruben between those two occasions. They knew how to make mean drinks and answered every question I had.
We also enjoyed a very tasty breakfast at The Studio where Karli, Jared, and Abigail were all incredibly welcoming and good at their jobs and seemed to go that extra mile helping each other out running food and such.
I would of course love to thank housekeeping for ensuring our room was spotless when we entered, which really made me all the more inclined to play the same three notes from Fur Elise over and over until I was politely asked to stop by my new wife.
Beyond that, I really enjoy what they’ve done with the art in the building. As someone heavily involved in documenting various art scenes around the world, it was very enjoyable getting to explore the available art. Having spent several nights in the building before it was Saint Kate, I had a great deal of respect for what they’ve done have done with the place. Will definitely be finding an excuse to stay again, and will also be recommending it to several artists and more importantly family members when they come to stay.
As far as hotels in the downtown Milwaukee area goes, it definitely hard to beat this location.

My stay at Saint Kate was AMAZING! I wish I had the time to stay another night, but I will definitely return. Every detail of the Saint Kate was carefully thought out. Every. Single. Detail. I was impressed before I ever entered the building. The signage. The walkway. The lobby. The staff at the desk when I checked in. EVERYTHING! Then I went to my room and I love that it exceeded my expectations. Before I entered the room, the note outside the door was lovely. The room was larger than I expected. Each lamp was a work of art. The ukulele was a cute touch, as was the record player. Maybe I will play around with the ukulele next time. I got a late start, so I missed dinner, but I stepped inside to view the interior and it was beautiful. There was a couple standing next to me and they were impressed, too, as we admired the artwork. Then, the actual art exhibits...OH MY GAWD! I told my friends that we have to come back to this work of art that doubles as a hotel. I can't wait to return!
