Stayed here for XGM conference. Beautiful room. Quiet and comfortable. I felt completely safe. Front desk staff was very hospitable even though I was checking in wayyyyy past my original check-in time. Passenger became ill on a layover flight in North Carolina.

The hotel itself is pretty solid. We, like many, have stayed there for the psuedo-water park, which is a nice option when your travels bring you to the Madison area. We’ve stayed there twice, accepting we’d have a bit of a drive to other things, just to use the water park. The rooms are in good shape and good value. The restaurant isn’t great, but breakfast was totally fine (otherwise very generic Italian food that is pretty bland). Good bar in the lobby. The pool is fine, but the lifeguarding, if you can call it that, is in name only; it’s pretty much a free for all in there. Watch your kids (nobody else is) and don’t be like every other robot-adult in the area glued to your phone.

I just wanna start off by saying that the staff at this place is what keep this place going and people coming to the hotel on April 30. I took my daughter here for her 10th birthday because she wanted to swim and I love their indoor water park. We get settled in and put on our swimwear. We go down to get in the pool. Everything was perfectly fine. There was lifeguards on duty, etc. so the kids were swimming. We were all just sitting there communicate with each other. The Lifeguard proceeds to walk up to us with her phone cause she couldn’t speak English saying that we all need to be wearing a wristbands in the pool area even if you’re not getting in the pool you still need a band on which is extremely overbearing because if you’re not getting in the pool, it shouldn’t matter if you have a wristband or not so I proceed to tell her that the front desk never communicated none of this when I checked in my room mind you there was several other guests already in the pool that didn’t have a wristband on or anything, and they never said anything to them. They waited until the black family come in to enforce whatever rule they was trying to enforce when it should’ve been enforced before we came so I go to the front desk and explain to them what just happened and she said that she was gonna call the lifeguards GM and let them know because that was very uncomfortable. They was gonna ruin my daughter‘s birthday being very racist. And mind you they weren’t really paying attention to the kids in the pool because several incidents happen and they didn’t even ask them was they OK? Luckily, you know I watch my own kids and pay very close attention whether there’s lifeguards or not the lifeguards treated us so horribly to the point that the front desk staff had to come in communicate and let them know the dues and Don’t so the staff at the hotel was perfect. The lifeguards was very rude. Very racist and wasn’t really doing their job so I don’t even know what they was. Therefore, they didn’t speak English they couldn’t understand English. The overall experience was very horrible to the point that I don’t even wanna come back to the place. If this is how their lifeguards is treating people no matter what race you are . Me n my family been to this place several times and this is by far the worst experience error and it’s even more worse because it was the lifeguards that supposed to be protecting and making sure the family feel safe and Comfortable. Someone need to call me from corporate because no one should be treated like that …

Not clean, rooms and pool area need repairs, mold in shower, pool bathrooms disgusting, pool water disgusting (hair, snot, garbage, even a panty liner, were things I was splashing out of the pool and my son's path while in the pool), rotting wood around floor by hot tub, torn fitted sheets and mattress protector, hair found in bed and in shower, stains on lamp shade (? Like just replace it....), cracks in walls, stains on ceiling, pool area absolute chaos, lifeguards letting many unsafe and wreckless things slide (as a certified lifeguard, I was absolutely horrified at the level of chaos being accepted. one lifeguard was even on the phone on his airpod the entire 4 hours we were at the pool, meanwhile kids are running right in front of him, sitting on each other's shoulders playing chicken, and playing breath holding contests, and even holding their friends under water... Right in front of him. I helped multiple kids who were struggling in the water, even with floating devices, as older kids were rushing past them, splashing them, startling them, and then causing them to lose control and start to struggle to keep their mouths above water. All of this is happening in front of the lifeguard on the phone, and he never even looked in that direction. The slide was chaos - kids being allowed to swim at the bottom of the slide, kids climbing the dividing wall at the bottom of the slide - jumping and doing flips off of it, kids planting their feet at the bottom of the slide and doing flips into the water - all in front of a lifeguard who looked like she hated her life. Older kids running back and forth between the deep pool and the little kid pool, pushing literal babies out of the way to go down the slides in the little kid area...). I was looking forward to this trip, but was extremely unimpressed by the quality of the stay. We paid extra for the breakfast that was picked over both days and honestly not impressive. The least the hotel could give their guests in a complimentary breakfast; to pay extra for a sub-par breakfast, on top of the poor quality of our stay, was frankly a slap in the face. Our standards are pretty low, we only want the bare minimum, and we didn't even receive that. I will not be coming back, and will not recommend this stay to others, and will be warning my friends and family about staying at this establishment until repairs and updates are done and there is a safe pool environment for our kids.

The rooms were clean when we first arrived and the towels were stocked. However the bedding had small stains on it so I'm not sure if that's from reusing and washing or they didnt change the bedding. The second day housekeeping didn't give us the same amount of towels as before so we had to ask the front desk and they left the doors propped open. One day they didnt clean our room at all and it was 11:10 when we arrived back to our room. I had to ask for more towels. It was frustrating because of our trash build up since we were there for a convention that lasted a couple days. Also the kids were really loud towards night time. I don't know if it's because we're by the pool on the second floor but they were running up and down the hallway while parents were i don't know. This was two nights in a row and I think different kids. The front desk talks to you like you're not an adult. We asked for microwaveable plates to warm up our leftover from the restaurant and then she told us not to warm up our silver ware in the microwave. Idk I'm like who microwaves silverware and clearly we asked for microwavable plates. I think the front desk could be friendlier when we ask for items instead of just redirecting us to housekeeping as if we didn't want to do that when we called ahead of time before coming down. The restaurant food was amazing except the one time I ordered a salad and the chicken was charred badly. We ate the restaurant one night and the food was so slow coming out. Our server told the other table why there was a wait after they came in 15min after us. I wish she would've also told us about that since we're still waiting also. So restaurant problem was lack of communication. Overall. If you have kids. It's a great place.
