The hotel itself is pretty solid. We, like many, have stayed there for the psuedo-water park, which is a nice option when your travels bring you to the Madison area. We’ve stayed there twice, accepting we’d have a bit of a drive to other things, just to use the water park.
The rooms are in good shape and good value. The restaurant isn’t great, but breakfast was totally fine (otherwise very generic Italian food that is pretty bland). Good bar in the lobby. The pool is fine, but the lifeguarding, if you can call it that, is in name only; it’s pretty much a free for all in there. Watch your kids (nobody else is) and don’t be like every other robot-adult in the area glued to your phone.

Not clean, rooms and pool area need repairs, mold in shower, pool bathrooms disgusting, pool water disgusting (hair, snot, garbage, even a panty liner, were things I was splashing out of the pool and my son's path while in the pool), rotting wood around floor by hot tub, torn fitted sheets and mattress protector, hair found in bed and in shower, stains on lamp shade (? Like just replace it....), cracks in walls, stains on ceiling, pool area absolute chaos, lifeguards letting many unsafe and wreckless things slide (as a certified lifeguard, I was absolutely horrified at the level of chaos being accepted. one lifeguard was even on the phone on his airpod the entire 4 hours we were at the pool, meanwhile kids are running right in front of him, sitting on each other's shoulders playing chicken, and playing breath holding contests, and even holding their friends under water... Right in front of him. I helped multiple kids who were struggling in the water, even with floating devices, as older kids were rushing past them, splashing them, startling them, and then causing them to lose control and start to struggle to keep their mouths above water. All of this is happening in front of the lifeguard on the phone, and he never even looked in that direction. The slide was chaos - kids being allowed to swim at the bottom of the slide, kids climbing the dividing wall at the bottom of the slide - jumping and doing flips off of it, kids planting their feet at the bottom of the slide and doing flips into the water - all in front of a lifeguard who looked like she hated her life. Older kids running back and forth between the deep pool and the little kid pool, pushing literal babies out of the way to go down the slides in the little kid area...). I was looking forward to this trip, but was extremely unimpressed by the quality of the stay. We paid extra for the breakfast that was picked over both days and honestly not impressive. The least the hotel could give their guests in a complimentary breakfast; to pay extra for a sub-par breakfast, on top of the poor quality of our stay, was frankly a slap in the face. Our standards are pretty low, we only want the bare minimum, and we didn't even receive that. I will not be coming back, and will not recommend this stay to others, and will be warning my friends and family about staying at this establishment until repairs and updates are done and there is a safe pool environment for our kids.
