  We were initially told the rate for a 2-day stay was $189, so we proceeded with the booking. After I provided my personal and card information, the representative said, "Just so you know, the second night rate is actually $302, sorry." No thanks!

  Great hotel with amazing service, subpar continental breakfast. I have stayed here multiple times for different conferences and this was my first time staying since management switched to Spark. I love the upgrades they have made throughout the hotel and the service was still top notch. Location connected to the Alliant Energy Center is still the best. My only complaint is the continental breakfast. From what was offered before Spark (hot foods such as eggs, sausage/bacon, biscuits and gravy, etc) to after (bagels, toast, yogurt, oatmeal, cereal, hard boiled eggs) was a complete letdown. Breakfast was no different than your budget hotel's breakfast. Being diabetic this was a major inconvenience. Also, it would be nice if they had ice (either a machine or a container) nearby the coffee machines. The front desk staff were amazing and allowed me to get ice from their kitchen. Until they provide more options, other than hard boiled eggs, which aren't so carb/sugar loaded, my review will remain at 4 stars.

  This place was amazing. Stayed for the weekend for a hockey tournament. 15min to everything in Madison. Pool is actually quite spacious. Great lobby to hang out and watch tv with group. Nice breakfast. Staff is amazing, very helpful always cleaning keeping this place so clean and nice

  No better place to stay if attending an event at Alliant Center. Indoor connecting corridor! shuttle took us downtown AND picked us up. Staff was all very nice, hotel is in like new condition and very clean. Considering we were able to check in early, the savings on ride share, and on breakfast, this was a steal

  Spark is spartan by design - and that's the only reason why it gets 4 stars rather than 5. What it does, it does very well: the beds are comfortable, service is very attentive, the location is convenient. It's just that some of the bells and whistles are omitted here: not a lot of countertop space in the rooms, a limited selection at breakfast - no hot eggs or waffle station but good coffee and decent muffins. It is affordably priced, and it gives you more than your money's worth.
