Also, don’t come if you prefer to sleep in on a Sunday morning (note the last picture of all the boxes with new locks, ready to be installed! Story below). I considered booking a different place after our first night here, but since we had a non-refundable reservation, I told myself to just compare it to camping, and then it seemed really nice: —Lots of sand and sediment at the bottom of the pool, with brown muck on the sides? 🤢 —> Just like a lake, but chlorinated! —Beds not comfortable (old springs)?🤕—>way better than the ground! —Thick layers of dust in bathroom fan vent & spots of mold in the radiators that certainly contribute to the sour, musty smell when the heater turns on?😷 —>Better than no hot showers or in-room toilet, nor controlled thermostat! —Here’s the real kicker though: Staff that may or may not have pulled the fire alarm at 6:45 am on Sunday (checkout) morning after UW parents’ weekend —since all their rooms were full, and they had contractors scheduled to change every room’s locks and they needed to get people checking out as early as possible? 🚒 (PS. the staff have *NO IDEA* what happened!!! Might’ve been something in the hallway?? Nobody knows!!! 🤷♀️) —>I mean…if I was tent-camping at a public campsite, I might’ve been woken up around that time anyway by other campers since I’m a light sleeper…but I’ll admit I’m still pretty miffed about this forced wake up call today. I would have easily slept 2 more hours. All in all, I think the management of this hotel is lucky to have made it this far. We’ll see how long they last, with such low standards. I certainly won’t be coming back!
