- CWCassidy WilliamsFeb 24, 20264.0I recently stayed at the DoubleTree in Madison. Overall, it was a decent stay, but it did not feel like a four star hotel. The room itself was clean and functional, but very standard. It felt comparable to a typical Holiday Inn or Hilton rather than a luxury property. There were no standout features in the room, and there was no complimentary breakfast, which I would expect at this level. The room was also fairly loud at times. I am not sure if it was a vent system or the refrigerator, but there was noticeable background noise that made it less comfortable. That said, the hotel does have a nice pool and a solid workout area, which were definite positives. The staff was also excellent, very polite, professional, and helpful throughout the stay. Plenty of food options in the area as well. Overall, it was a good, standard hotel experience, but it did not meet my expectations for what I consider a true four star property.

Everything was good until me and my girlfriend went to breakfast and the older gentleman servicing our table was rude and unsettling. Destroyed our whole experience over wanting to exchange a food item that was not to our liking. The scrambled eggs tasted like cardboard and we simply wanted to exchange the scrambled eggs for sunny side up. He was rude and disrespectful to my woman and I was angry and upset about it. Even offered to pay for the exchange. Made a big deal about it for nothing, embarrassing to say the least. On top of that I still tipped 20 for the exchange and 10 plus on the table for clean up. I’m highly disappointed and still upset about the experience and I’d feel better after I’ve received a full refund.
