My wife and I came to visit with our children and grandchildren. We had such beautiful memories of your upstairs being decorated like a magical winter wonderland from years gone by. Couldn't wait for the day we could share this experience with our family. We were disappointed with the upstairs. You really downsized the scenes and big decorations that capture all of our hearts during the holiday season. I appreciate the work put into the gingerbread houses, but that's not what captures the little ones attention.
The tree lighting, fireworks and trolley touring the decorated grounds were awesome. However, with such large crowds and events, it was very evident that the hotel was short staffed. Servers were missed. The bartenders and few servers were overwhelmed. They were very pleasant and did their very best. However, whoever handled the scheduling of staff definitely did a poor job. We were with a group of 16 in your beautiful lobby after trolley tour on Monday, after enjoying food, I literally cleared the dishes off the table so that we could enjoy our surroundings without a mess. Again, no staff to clean or remove empty plates, empty glasses and bottles from tables.
Even on Tuesday, Nov 25, we waited over an hour for sandwiches that were ordered thru Andy, the bartender who was taking orders, serving guests and multi tasking. He did a great job and worked hard to accommodate guests. Our room prices were not discounted at that time of year, I surely didn't expect the service to be discounted. I found it interesting that five male executives were walking around the lobby around 1pm on Tuesday seemed more interested in moving around throw pillows than realizing the short staff issues. Since the bartender was busy, I approached the men to cancel our food order since the kids couldn't wait any longer. I explained our frustration regarding the lack of staff and constructive criticism and suggestions as "food for thought" for future.
Throughout our stay, we received regular text messages inquiring on our stay, inquiring if we needed anything. Twice, we requested extra coffee and received an immediate response. However our 2nd night, we sent two text messages (1am and again at 1:20 am requesting ear plugs (no response either time). We were given an adjoining room which apparently does not buffer noise. The guests in the next room, were having a good time, talking loud and laughing. Perhaps they didn't realize how loud they were, that the noise carried into our room and there is minimal noise absorption in adjoining rooms. We were not upset, happy for their enjoyment, but just requested earplugs twice. No response.
The Grand Geneva is such a beautiful hotel with stunning grounds and atmosphere. This was the first time we were disappointed in our stay. We will definitely go back, however, we will make sure they have adequate staff and that we do not end up in an adjoining room.

We came here for Thanksgiving and it was incredible. From the moment we arrived, every staff member went out of their way to be helpful. The Thanksgiving buffet in the Evergreen room was delicious but the waffles...OMG!!! These are the best waffles in the world. They are crispy on the outside but light on the inside. They should offer training on how to make a waffle like this...and the chef making the waffles was so kind.

Arrived on Saturday in the middle of a weekend conference. Had a room in building 1 with no parking anywhere remotely close to my room. Had to park by golf course clubhouse, about a 30-40 minute walk to my room. With bags, that’s not an easy or fun walk. They should limit parking in lots for those who actually have a room in a nearby building.
Had lukewarm water in shower and had no body wash.

I had a wonderful stay at the Grand Geneva Spa & Resort. The grounds were beautiful, the room was so clean , the spa was relaxing, and the service was excellent. Please try their all you can each brunch! You will not be disappointed with the prime rib. A special shout-out to the sweet baristas — Natasha, Verenice, and Jocelyn who ended my trip on such a warm, uplifting note. Their kindness truly made my experience exceptional. I highly recommend and will be back soon!
