My daughter and I live in the area and went to the spa for massages and facials. I had Dori for my facial and she was amazing! She did a wonderful job. She deserves 5 stars for sure! But our couples massage wasn't great. We asked for the therapeutic deep tissue massage, which requires certain staff I guess and it cost more than the relaxation massage. Both of us were not really satisfied with our massages. They weren't even close to being deep tissue. And beforehand they asked us if we had any certain areas that needed more attention but then they didn't even focus on those areas at all! The staff at the desk and in the ladies lockroom weren't very friendly or inviting. And the ladies that did our massages weren't super friendly either. They weren't unfriendly... Just not what you expect for a high priced spa experience. I didn't feel pampered or special. Dori was great tho! Honestly, if it wasn't for her, my rating would be lower.

The rooms were a good size for our family of four, which we appreciated, but they were extremely hot with no way to cool them down since the AC had been turned off for the season. Service was consistently slow—from an over-hour delay at check-in, to room service taking longer than quoted, to housekeeping needing multiple reminders just to bring extra pillows for the kids. On the positive side, the ski slope was great and our kids really enjoyed it. However, the water park was very crowded with limited seating, and the arcade was dirty—unfortunately, we suspect that’s where a friend picked up a stomach bug. Overall, there were some highlights, but the service and facility issues mean we’ll likely look at other nearby ski resort options next time.

We recently stayed here and overall had a really lovely experience. We took full advantage of the spa and wellness amenities. The massage services were fantastic, and the entire wellness building was relaxing. I also used the fitness center, which was clean, well-equipped, and easy to access. The holiday decorations were also so beautiful and it was fun seeing the gingerbread house display. We dined at a few of the on-site restaurants and really enjoyed the food. Solid options and great atmosphere. The beds were very comfortable, and we slept well overall. I went with my mom and we requested rooms close to each other. She lucked out with a gorgeous lake view, while I had a parking lot view, which was probably my only real disappointment. My room was also connected to another by an internal locked door, and the walls were a bit thin, so I could hear my neighbors more than I would’ve liked. That said, it was still a great trip overall.

I spent a fortune on a villa over Xmas. It was very dirty- the furniture, the walls and windows and appliances. There was no bedding or pillows stored anywhere for the pull out. We had to call room service for blankets and pillows. That took a few hours. The pull out was so old and terribly uncomfortable. It was bent up and we barely got it back in the sofa. The Chophouse was ridiculously expensive for the food quality. Steaks were either dry or bloody- but we had to wait 90 minutes for our food to come. We were there 2 days before Xmas eve (dinner) thru Xmas. The place looked and felt run down and had raccoons under the porch. The lights were pretty, decorations were festive but there wasn’t anyone picking up drink glasses or trash in the main building. Skiiing was fun, but also expensive. They DO NOT offer military discount for certain reservation dates, but do offer AAA discounts for the same dates. We were supposed to have a AAA discount but I was charged full price. No one has even contacted me re our stay after filling out their independent review/feedback form. Very disappointing. We will be staying elsewhere next year to ski for Christmas.

My wife and I stopped in with our two adult sons and my one son's girlfriend. For years,we had made it a tradition to go to Grand Geneva, grab a Christmas cocktail and then look at the decorations in gingerbread houses. When we approach the bar we stood in line behind a woman that was being handed drinks. The acknowledgment we got from Isaac the bartender was "please move out of the waitress station and go over there." We moved about 3 ft to where he indicated and stood there. We were promptly ignored for the next 5 minutes by both Isaac and the other bartender. Joel. Joel actually made eye contact with my wife but offered no acknowledgment whatsoever. No nod, no "I'll be with you in a moment," no "how can I help you." Just a blank stare. The bar was not particularly busy, but the total lack of acknowledgment by either bartender turned us off. We decided to look at the decorations without a drink and left promptly thereafter. For the price that Grand Geneva charges for drinks, you would think they would try and make it a premium experience. It was not.
