I called the front desk to resolve and was told that it was because I had opened the door and the steam caused the fire alarm to go off. The front desk lady then proceeded to try and gaslight me and tell me that is normal and standard in each hotel. I have stayed at dozens of Best Westerns across North America and this is the first time I have been told that I need to follow a special procedure to shower and use the bathroom otherwise the smoke alarm goes off. I find this absurd and having the staff talk down to me in such a manner is unacceptable. I have the Diamond Select Status and may consider other hotel chain options going forward. If you stay here, make sure you follow the shower procedure or the fire alarm will go off. Never staying at this hotel again.

Customer service was top notch but the room I received wasn’t great (2 queen + balcony). Almost as if someone had shampooed the carpet and not let the room vent properly to dry. It felt stale but when I politely asked the front desk staff, they were more than happy to put me in another room - no questions asked! 2nd room was top notch! Very happy with the customer service, the room and the amenities! We hung out in the game room for a bit and used the gym which was fairly adequately equipped. Wifi speeds were good. Free parking was straight forward and without issues! Breakfast was also good. Plenty of bread options, peach yogurts, juices, coffees, muffins, eggs, sausage and potatoes. Pancakes were our go to for both days! A huge thank you to the staff once again! Made my stay much more pleasant!
