This Best Western in Renton has an excellent location. You really couldn’t ask for much better. It's right near major freeways, making it easy to get to downtown Seattle, the Eastside, or head south. The area also felt safe, which is always a plus.
The building itself is very well done and feels modern. Everything looked updated, including the rooms, and cleanliness clearly seemed to be a priority. I regularly saw housekeepers cleaning throughout the day, not just during room turnovers. The fitness room was especially impressive, easily double the amount of equipment I’ve seen at other Best Western locations.
Breakfast went above and beyond the standard Best Western spread. In addition to eggs, sausage, and hash browns, they offered biscuits and gravy, waffles, yogurt, fresh fruit, boiled eggs, and even a coffee/espresso machine. Definitely one of the better hotel breakfasts I’ve had.
The laundry facility was very basic, just one washer and one dryer, and both were on their last legs, but it got the job done.
There were two downsides to my stay. The biggest issue was the internet. It was very spotty throughout the day and repeatedly kicked me off, requiring constant re-logins. This was especially frustrating since I needed reliable Wi-Fi for work on my laptop.
The second downside was the staff. Unfortunately, they didn’t feel very friendly or welcoming. During check-in, basic information like breakfast hours or where amenities were located wasn’t explained, and when I asked questions, the staff member seemed annoyed. I stayed for nearly a week and never once had a front desk employee greet me or say hello while passing through the lobby.
Overall, the location, cleanliness, and amenities were great, but the inconsistent internet and lack of friendly customer service held this location back from being a 5-star stay.
