  I am a Platinum Rewards Member and stay at many hotels throughout the year. I normally do not write negative reviews, but my stay in Room 114 was so disappointing that I felt I needed to share my experience. • Strong Odor: The first impression upon entering was an overwhelming smell coming from either the carpet or the bathroom plumbing. It was strong enough that we had to use spray to try and mask it. This was not the quality I expect as a frequent guest. • Bathroom Maintenance: The exhaust fan in the bathroom is extremely loud and distracting. There was also a persistent, unpleasant odor coming from the restroom pipes. • Cramped Space: The room layout felt very narrow and cramped, which made it difficult to settle in comfortably. As a loyal member, I was really looking forward to this stay, but the maintenance and cleanliness issues were quite impressive for the wrong reasons. I hope management addresses these concerns for future guests.

  Awesome stay on the coast, exceed my expectations. Hansgrohe sink faucet... don't find that often in a affordable room. This place looked like it was remodeled recently and who ever did it took great lengths to detail there work in a professional way. We stayed on a top floor "suite room". I've stayed in a lot of best westerns before but this really showed classiness.

  Not sure which was worse- the 6 black pubic hairs all over my bathroom upon arrival or Linda at the front desk claiming I didn’t have a reservation- despite showing proof of my reservation from my best western account. What else isn’t being cleaned besides the bathrooms?? Linda who works at the front desk said I had no reservation and somehow I ended up being charged for 2 rooms- how can I be charged so much if I didn’t have a reservation in the first place according to Linda? The staff here need to learn how to look up reservations made on the best western website and they need to learn to clean rooms in between guests. Linda claimed I didn’t have a reservation and proceeded to make up several stories about what happened to my reservation- blaming me. Only to call corporate and they pointed out my reservation to her. So because she couldn’t find my reservation, she blamed me until corporate showed her my reservation. You should be aware that if you make a reservation through the best western website that is not a guarantee of a room and doesn’t mean they will honor the reservation, even if you receive email confirmations and your online account shows the reservation. Those are not considered valid proof of a reservation according to the front desk. The front desk told me that the best western email confirmations and your best western account info with reservation info is not proof of a reservation. This is the absolute worst hotel I’ve ever been to. Customer service is nonexistent. Told the manager about the problems and she didn’t apologize. The staff here are upset when you bring an issue to their attention, so it’s best to stay quiet. After Linda telling me I don’t have a reservation I ended up being charged for two reservations. Very unethical behavior. No one at the hotel did anything to make it right or make amends for their mistakes. Due to the incompetence and dishonesty at the front desk, I did not feel safe here.

  The staff is the best part of this spot. Clean rooms, standard breakfast quality I expect from Best Western, but the staff is awesome. I was checked in by Linda who was so fun to chat with and knowledgeable about the area, and Lorrayne attending the breakfast area was attentive and made for a lovely start to my morning. You're right at the heart of town and close to everything you'd wanna see here. No pool or hot tub, which is really the only thing I can knock. I'll be back next time I'm in the area for sure!

  There's no Ocean View which is okay because it's Long Beach and most places don't. The options in the vending machines were great, the breakfast was amazing, and the breakfast staff was kind and sweet. The room has a microwave, refrigerator and TV. We didn't use any of that as we were just there one night. One big issue is pet fees. I get it for hotels there is extra costs with having pets. Kids cause damage to and run down the hallway, make pools (no pool at this location) busy and cry throughout the night. We didn't have to pay extra for our kids. But for our dogs we had to pay extra, per pet, per night. We don't leave our dogs alone as it's not allowed. But if we wanted to get away for two nights it would of been unaffordable. We travel as a family abs understand it's a lot and not every pet owner is responsible, but this per night is crazy! I think it should be per stay, just one pet fee. The breakfast was great, the coffee was delicious. Probably will try to find some where else to stay that doesn't charge $40 per night, per pet.
