- LHLynn Hutchins3 days ago2.0Given all of the homeless looking people not only hanging out, outside, but some wandering around inside, I was concerned the place was doubling as a homeless shelter. Wasn't sure if my car was safe, and kept waking up all night long to check on it. Just for the feeling of safety alone, I would never stay there again. The place was clean enough, but run down with unpleasant musty smells. One cupboard was broken, and furniture was in bad shape. Having said all that: Surprisingly fantastic breakfast!

I walked in and spoke to the front desk told her I needed to cancel the reservation for that day . Instead of being a No Show . I nicely spoke to her and she charged me for 1 night charge . I then called customer service explaining my family situation and he said he would call and see what he could do . I then walked back in and told the lady at the front desk that I called and she said yes the phone rang but I couldn’t pick up because she was busy with a customer. I asked to speak with a manager she said she was off till Sunday . I called back on Sunday I was transferred to her voicemail left a message and a week later No phone call . Pretty sad that I let them know I couldn’t keep the reservation due to a family emergency that changed our lives forever and I was charged a night when there were rooms available so my reservation didn’t impact anyone. We will NEVER EVER use BEST WESTERN AGAIN ! Sometimes Life brings you things that happen out of our control. So the $120 .00 we were charged for cancelling may not be a lot to someone else . is a lot when you are traveling 3000 miles from home and getting a call that changed our lives forever, The Front Desk personnel didn’t Care nor did the Manager to return my call .
