  I stayed at the Best Western Snowcap Lodge as an alternative option during the WMEA All‑State Solo & Ensemble weekend, since every hotel in Ellensburg was completely booked out. For that purpose, it worked well enough — not a standout property, but a clean, comfortable, and reliable place to stay when availability is tight. The hotel is located in Cle Elum, about a short drive from Ellensburg, making it a practical backup when the main event hotels are full. The area is quiet, parking is easy, and there are a few restaurants and conveniences nearby, which helps when you’re coming in late or heading out early for performances. The rooms themselves are average but functional: clean, decently sized, and equipped with the basics like a microwave, fridge, and good lighting. It’s not a luxury stay, but it’s comfortable enough for a night or two, especially if your main focus is the competition rather than the hotel experience. Staff are friendly in a straightforward, small‑town way, and check‑in is quick and simple. Breakfast is typical for this category — nothing fancy, but enough variety to get you started before heading to the festival. The property is quiet, and with only two floors, it’s easy to get in and out without hassle. Overall, Best Western Snowcap Lodge is an average but dependable option when Ellensburg is sold out for WMEA events. It won’t impress you, but it provides a clean room, a good night’s rest, and a convenient base when the closer hotels aren’t available.

  I stayed here unexpectedly while traveling to Seattle when Snoqualmie Pass was suddenly closed with no reopening time available. I was very thankful to find a room, especially since they sold out so quickly after that. This hotel was very clean, my room was comfortable and nice, and the front desk staff were genuinely kind and helpful. After a stressful change in travel plans, it was such a relief to stay somewhere that felt warm and welcoming. The only issue was that the room phone didn’t work, even though it was plugged in. It wasn’t a big problem since my room was close to the front desk, but it was a little strange. Still, everyone was friendly and easy to approach when I needed help.

  We had an unexpected stay here due to a snowstorm closing the pass. Front Desk Mackenzie and Lisa were very kind and so helpful! Rooms were very clean, showers were hot & glorious. Thank you to Snowcap for being a literal port in a storm!

  No elevator just stairs. Plenty of food options within walking distance. (Safeway accross the street). Off the main drag. Free cookies in the lobby at 6

  The company I work for often has us spend the night once in a while around the area. We always try and convince our boss to get us rooms here at the Snocap. The place is clean, neat, and the service is exceptional. Both heater and a/c is always peak performance. The lady who runs the front is always super helpful and so polite. Plus the location I mean, literally kinda has everything you need around it. Definitely recommend!
