Stayed at Hilton Garden Inn Bellevue for a few nights recently—wow, what a “memorable” Hilton experience! I didn’t know “garden” here refers to the green mold in the bathroom.
Checked into my room late at night, and guess what? The shower door was covered in that lovely green stuff (mold, duh) and there were random hairs on the bathroom floor. How thoughtful of the previous guest to leave a “souvenir”! I reported it first thing the next morning, wrote a nice little note for the front desk, and begged them to give the room a proper clean while I was out. Spoiler: when I got back, only the towels were swapped. Nothing else—mold still there, hairs maybe hiding, who knows? I asked again, waited forever, then passed out from jet lag. A housekeeper knocked later, I said “come back soon,” and… crickets. No one showed up.
Day two of my stay, I went to the front desk again—smiled nicely, reminded them about the “green decor” in the shower (since I hear moldy hotel rooms aren’t exactly allowed around here). The staff was so “helpful”! They said they’d tell their boss, call me back, and even waive a couple nights’ fees. Cool, right? Wrong. No call, no clean, no fee waiver. Nada. When I followed up, a guy at the front desk said, “Oh, housekeeping’s not my problem”—nice teamwork! I had to hunt down a housekeeper myself from another floor to get someone to my room. Came back hours later, still nothing. Finally, the housekeeper showed up—did the laziest job ever. That “green decor”? Still hanging in there!
I emailed three managers nicely explaining everything, and only the GM replied—with zero actual solutions. Love that Hilton level of “care”! If you’re into moldy showers, unfulfilled promises, and staff who pass the buck, this is your dream hotel. For everyone else? Run. Save yourself the hassle (and the mold exposure).
