DO NOT STAY HERE. The only thing “decent” about this “hotel” is the location since we were going to Busch Gardens. It is falsely advertised as a “newly renovated hotel with fitness amenities and hot buffet breakfast”. Upon arrival to check in, we asked about breakfast and were told that the kitchen is “currently” being renovated and that there is no stove so grab and go breakfast would be placed in lobby. In addition, when asked about the mentioned fitness facility we were also told “it was under renovation”. Communication to guests would have been the ethical and professional step to take to inform them that the hotel is “under renovation”. I wish this is where the red flags and disappointment ended. After leaving reception area, it was apparent from musty smells, trash filled hallways/elevator and the dirt on the floors, that it was not being renovated let alone managed properly. It did not look like it was ever cleaned. We were given three different rooms before we found one that we could stay in since we arrived at night time. After unpacking, I went to use the bathroom in the room for the first time and there were tiny, curly black hairs all over the toilet seat. The carpets were disgusting and the tubs felt like there was sand in it. Not to mention, there is a train that is right next to this hotel that runs throughout the night. We only initially booked it given the advertisement and it is in an inclusion package with Busch Gardens. I regret booking this hotel and urge others to stay clear of this hotel.

The location is excellent but that's the only positive from the stay. We arrived and found garbage and leftover food in our refrigerator along with substandard cleaning. The bathroom had no shampoo and the front desk had none to offer as well. I thought that was bad enough but then came the breakfast. No hot breakfast they closed it and said they would have one tomorrow. Cereal really wasn't cutting it and the following day once again no hot breakfast. The final straw was the pool. The air temperature in the pool area is about 60* and the water is 65*. Virtually unusable for any length of time. Contacted the front desk, management and Best Western directly but nothing was done. Don't go here.

The level of filth and neglect I encountered was completely unacceptable and far below any reasonable standard of cleanliness or hospitality. Upon entering the room, I immediately noticed alarming sanitation issues. There was feces present on the toilet, specifically near the handle, which is both unhygienic and shocking. Additionally, I found mouse droppings in multiple areas throughout the room — inside the drawers, under the bed pillows, near the refrigerator, and even on the desk. This clearly indicates a serious pest problem that has not been properly addressed. The bathroom was in an equally appalling state, with black mold spread extensively across surfaces. This is not only unsightly but poses a significant health risk. To make matters worse, the sink was clogged and unusable. The furniture throughout the room was also filthy, further contributing to the overall sense of neglect and lack of basic cleanliness. It is evident that the room had not been properly cleaned or inspected prior to my arrival. I attempted to bring these serious concerns to the attention of the front desk; however, there was never anyone available to assist me. There was only one person ever at the front desk and they seemed to be running all the positions (front desk, housekeeping etc). Additionally, the pool area was inadequately maintained, as there were never any towels available for guests to use. This is another basic amenity that was clearly neglected.

The location is the only good thing about this place. I’ve only been here for about 3 hours and I already want to leave. From the moment I checked in, things felt off. The breakfast area is closed even though breakfast is supposed to be included, which was the first letdown. Then during check-in, the front desk guy told me he needed to go to my room before giving me the keys to make sure everything was okay. That alone was weird and honestly a red flag. When I got into the room, it wasn’t even what I booked. I reserved a queen bed and was given two separate full beds. When I questioned it, I was told that a “queen” basically means two full beds to them, which makes no sense and wasn’t stated anywhere when booking. A few minutes later, someone (maintenance or housekeeping) walked straight into the room without knocking. No warning at all. That’s a huge invasion of privacy. What if someone had been changing, or if a minor was in the room? That should never happen. Then we go to shower and realize there aren’t even shower curtains installed, so the shower is basically unusable. At that point, I went to the front desk to ask to check out and get a refund, especially since the room also didn’t feel clean. I explained everything, including someone walking into the room, and it felt like it wasn’t taken seriously at all. I got a very dismissive apology and was offered 10% off, which honestly felt insulting given the situation. I asked to speak to a manager and was told I’d have to wait until tomorrow, which doesn’t work for me since I’m traveling and leaving early. To make things worse, I came back to the room and noticed there’s still trash from previous guests left behind, which just confirms it wasn’t properly cleaned. Again, I’ve been here less than 3 hours and already can’t wait to leave. This has been a really frustrating and uncomfortable experience.

The worst hotel we've ever stayed in. My husband and I just spent two nights here this past weekend. Room 321. We are very easy-going people and never post negative reviews. BUT this was the most dingy and inhospitable experience we've had at any hotel and we've stayed in most of the Williamsburg hotels. To start, upon arriving in our hotel room, the tv wouldn't turn on. After several visits to the front desk, we found out the remote needed new batteries. Not a huge deal, but just annoying to have to deal with to start our stay. The room was very cramped, old, outdated and not very clean. There was trash still in the trash can from the previous guests! Peeling paint and many stains on doors and walls. You have to bump into the toilet to get out of the shower and to close the bathroom door. The shower was obviously clogged because the water wouldn't drain so you were in about 2 feet of nasty standing water while showering. There was mold on the shower fan. Another concerning thing to me was that we never ever saw even one housekeeper the entire 2 day stay! At most hotels you're constantly bumping into housekeepers in the hallways or elevators. When we showed up for breakfast in the morning, they just said there's no breakfast today. No breakfast both days we were there without any explanation why. That's included in the cost of the hotel, you can't just decide there's no breakfast! There were a few muffins, bagels and some juice sitting out on a table in the lobby(which does not seem sanitary to me), that was it. The mattresses are very thin, springy and old, and the pillows are lumpy. The sheets had stains on them. The floors in the lobby looked very dirty with many stains. The pool was super old and dodgy looking; I wouldn't use it despite bringing my bathing suit and hoping to swim. The fitness room was also closed which we had hoped to use during our stay. Honestly the ONLY good thing about this hotel(and the reason we took a chance on it, despite all the negative reviews) is the close proximity to Colonial Williamsburg- it is within walking distance. We will never be staying here again. Avoid this place like the plague!
