December wedding , Upon arrival, our wedding party was separated in multiple buildings on multiple floors away from each other, even though these rooms had been booked since February 2025. Staff at the front desk seemed unenthusiastic. He Absolutely could care less. He did not have the capability to problem solve However, once we got in our rooms, three of the 10 rooms had not been cleaned from prior guests. The one thing that was consistent from check-in to the wedding service to the wedding reception to the breakfast, brunch and dinners, as well as in the spa with the lack of employees there to assist Staying guest in fact, we didn’t see any staff members except for the one at the front desk that never spoke to people, and then the few that were standing talking in the restaurant . The breakfast buffet had no vegetables and one small round bowl of melon. Expect at least 20 to 30 minutes to get your first coffee or tea served to you upon arrival for breakfast. They had no available slots for massages not even for the wedding party that was booked since February again lacking in staff.
The wedding itself was lovely. The reception was nice because of the interaction the DJ had with all the guests.. The founders in staff that was supposed to be working the wedding was hit or miss. They were unable to properly cut and serve the wedding cake, and the bride and groom ended up serving the cake to the majority of their guests. Because staff disappeared. The bride and groom paid for top shelf alcohol however it was not served. The signature drinks were extremely weak and was not what was presented at the tasting. The use of the honeymoon suite for one night was insulting and ridiculous. All of these disappointments are the result of Management that accepts below standard service,
There was a consistent lack of employees, providing Quality service to guests and an abundance of employees that do not speak to guests. I did ask the bride and groom if they felt as if they received treatment as the bride and groom on their special day by the founders Iinn and staff, they both instantly said no. no accommodations were made when the bride requested a massages. They were told everything was booked up. Again, Founders inn didn’t have enough staff to accommodate the needs of their guests, We were and are Extremely disappointed in the Founders Inn for wedding services .
We stayed at your hotel for five nights in December while attending a NATO meeting. We are also Hilton Honors Gold members, which made the experience even more disappointing given the expectations associated with the Hilton brand.
While the room itself was a decent size and the bathroom was spacious, our overall experience was extremely poor due to unprofessional behavior and lack of basic service.
On my first morning at the breakfast buffet, after I had finished eating, an associate approached me and pointed to where I should leave a tip. I found this behavior extremely rude, inappropriate, and highly unprofessional. In all our travels around the world, we have never encountered such conduct.
Additionally, our room was not cleaned at all during our entire five-night stay. When I asked a housekeeper for assistance, she came in briefly but did not empty the garbage, which had been there for two days. When I politely asked her to take care of it, she responded with an attitude that made the situation uncomfortable.
We reported these issues to the front desk, but nothing was resolved. Considering this hotel is part of Hilton and that we are Hilton Honors Gold members, the lack of service and professionalism was shocking. The standards and service were more comparable to a cheap motel than a Hilton property.
This was by far the worst hotel experience we have had, and we hope this feedback is taken seriously and addressed appropriately.

Disappointing Service – Great Location Only
While this hotel benefits from a safe and convenient location, the service we received was very poor. My wife called the front desk to request shampoo, shower gel, and conditioner, yet after 30 minutes, nothing had arrived. When we followed up, we were told someone was on the way, but after 40 minutes of waiting, we grew frustrated and had to go down to the lobby to collect the items ourselves. What made this especially disappointing was that we were dealing directly with the hotel manager the entire time. I expected much better service for the price.
Hotel situado a unos 15 minutos en coche tanto del aeropuerto de Norfolk como de la propia ciudad. Se encuentra al lado de la universidad de Regent, rodeado de naturaleza y con un lago.
Aparentemente el hotel está bien pero necesitaría una buena inversión en modernizar sus instalaciones, la climatización y el minibar dentro de la habitación hacen un ruido tremendo (lo pude comprobar en dos habitaciones por problemas con la reserva y además otros compañeros comentaron lo mismo). Tampoco estaría mal que hiciesen los caminos hasta los diferentes edificios cerrados y climatizados, porque en invierno te mueres de frío para ir al gimnasio o a desayunar si no te ha tocado la habitación en el edificio principal.
El portal que da acceso al WiFi es bastante hostil y a veces daba error sin motivo alguno, además la velocidad no era nada del otro mundo.
El recinto cuenta con suficientes aparcamientos, normal teniendo en cuenta que no se puede ir a ninguna parte andando, hay que coger el coche para todo.
El gimnasio y la piscina estaban bastante bien, eso si el spa en los 4 días que estuve allí no lo vi ningún día abierto. También cuenta con varias salas para reuniones o eventos.
En cuanto al restaurante tiene mucho que mejorar. Durante el desayuno se empeñan en ir colocando a la gente en mesas específicas en vez de indicar tu habitación al entrar y sentarte donde quieras, total es tipo bufet. Hasta que descubres que lo hacen por la propina, si, pese a haber pagado por el desayuno junto con la habitación, todos los días pasaban a darte la cuenta para que indicases si querías dejar propina (por mucho que en USA lo vean normal, no lo es). En cuanto a la comida eche en falta opciones más saludables, más fruta, embutidos… demasiado desayuno americano, bollos y gofres (los podías hacer tú mismo al momento). Además tienen a un cocinero que te hace tortillas con los ingredientes que tú quieras al momento.
En resumen, pienso que el hotel no llega a las 4 estrellas que dice tener, está bien pero debería mejorar lo citado previamente.

Took my family of five to the Christmas Eve buffet at founders Inn. It was an absolutely horrible experience – the line to get to the food had to be at least 30 minutes. People are wrapped around the dining room, waiting to get food. The table behind us, a party of four eventually got up and left without getting any food whatsoever except salad and they had to pay the full price for the buffet. The food selection was also very poor – they had small prime rib that they were slicing, but all of it was extraordinary, rare and also cold. Whoever managed and set this up should probably work at McDonald’s, not this place. It was definitely an experience we will never forget, but will never repeat. As I said absolutely horrible!!!!!
