Lovely on the ocean front with beautiful beach however our concerns are:
Water was not warm enough for a hot shower , staff were polite but don’t wear uniforms which is very unprofessional looking and you can’t tell who works there and who doesn’t!
When we arrived in the evening- no cookies provided which is supposed to be a trademark of double tree. Had to ask
For the cookies the next day and noticed staff were eating the cookies at 10 am when we checked out- aren’t the cookies for the paying customers?
Was itchy in the bed- not sure if bedding has a lot of bleach but slept poorly first night and second night had to wear a track suit to keep from itching
For the price of the room, the towels had stains on them and noticed some stains on sheets
Wouldn’t return to this hotel

TL;DR: found bed bugs in both of the beds in our room during stay from 11/1/25-11/2/25; very dissatisfied with response by hotel manager and other morning front desk staff
———
We discovered bed bugs in our beds in the middle of the night. The overnight front desk clerk was able to switch us to another room since they had availability, and texted his manager to inform her of the situation. He said he was not authorized to do anything more than switch our room and we could talk to his manager in the morning when she arrived about compensation. It was horrible to wake up our 19 month old, pack and move our stuff, and try to settle ourselves back to sleep in the middle of the night, but at that point we figured we would be well compensated for this major inconvenience in the morning.
The next morning, my husband and I were shocked by the way the manager and other front desk staff were interacting with us regarding the situation. They showed no sympathy or initiative beyond refunding our stay to help remedy the situation for us. We asked for additional compensation for the stress and future costs of treatment to prevent spreading them in our own house. We explained how it had already been stressful and would continue to be as we traveled home with possibly infested items and an overtired toddler; treating said infested items once home; informing a family member who visited our room of the issue, etc. Her next offer was to add us to the breakfast list at Mahi’s next door. After further insisting on our end, she also added 20,000 points on my account (that equates to $104, which doesn’t even cover a full night at this hotel). We asked for bags to put our stuff in and the manager tasked another front desk staff to give them to us and didn’t return from the back office to finish the conversation we were having. When we checked out, another front desk staff had no idea of the situation when I asked for a case number and confirmation of the compensations discussed earlier that day and she had to call the manager for clarification. It felt like pulling teeth to be compensated for an issue I would expect a hotel to eagerly offer in response to this situation. It also felt like none of the staff (besides the overnight front desk associate) were surprised or concerned about it happening in the first place and like we were inconveniencing them by asking for compensation.
Overall, our experience with this hotel was dissatisfying and we won’t be staying there again.

The location was awesome. My room itself was good. The smell of bleach was overpowering. I had to leave the balcony door open all afternoon and night.
The toilet was not level and the tiles/grout in the shower was not clean. Considering the bleach smell you would think the tiles and grout would be clean.
I did love the ocean view though.

Majestic views ruined by paper thin walls.
This place has basically turned into a party spot where both underage guests and adults drink and smoke freely. The smell of weed lingers and management seems to do nothing about it.
In addition, a catered event in the lobby blasted music loud enough to reach the third floor till past 10pm. I had to change rooms in the afternoon because a group of young adults were having a screaming match that echoed down the hallway. Later that night — at 2:53 a.m. — I was woken up by explicit moaning from another room.
If you’re looking for peace and quiet, go somewhere else. Beautiful setting, but zero control and zero soundproofing. For a Hilton owned property this is surprising. The surrounding area in the cold season also didn’t make me feel safe.

We had a very scary experience at this hotel, enough to make us never stay at a Double Tree again. After shopping on the boardwalk my wife walked back to the hotel through the back door. I was in our room with our 2 young boys, 2 and 5 years old. She had a very aggressive man approach saying to walk around, ok sure. She walked in through the front and the man ran up, wearing nothing but a tank top and necklace screaming in her face. An altercation occurred with another family friend so my wife then so scared ran up to our room. Told me the story of this man attacking them. I go downstairs to discuss with the manager what happened. The man was actually a security guard and then began screaming at me. I say to the manager, I can't believe this is who you have working here. The security then asks the manager for my room number, at this point I believe the manager was also scared of this man. So he gave him my room number, the security then says " I will be up there to handle you". I then am also scared with what's going on. I go up to my room, with my wife and 2 young children and call the police. The police come and say "there is nothing we can do but we talked to the manager and they want you to leave the hotel." No reason given, no issues with anything me or my wife did. Just because we called the police on them. At this point it is 2 AM and I have to pick my crying children out of bed and walk out the hotel. I still cannot even believe what happened. I am a business owner and my wife is a therapist, we are thinking about following up with a lawsuit. Please do NOT stay here. It was the worst experience I've ever had in my life and I have stayed at 1,000 hotels and also had my wedding at a Double Tree.
