We were traveling with my elderly parents. We did not have a reservation. My father loves to stay at Holiday Inn so that he can accumulate points. I cannot say enough good things about the front desk staff. Robert and Brandi worked well as a team to get us checked in. Brandi went above and beyond to get my parents a handicapped room and to make sure my Dad got his points😂They were very patient and kind.

nice hotel. The staff at the front desk was amazing considering they had a college football team staying at the property who were playing against Virginia Tech and the team had reserved the hotel till 3pm so people could get into their rooms since housekeeping had to start cleaning them after 3:00 p.m. the front desk was very friendly as they were getting bombarded by guest upset that they weren't notified about the change in the check-in times. Recommendation for the ownership is maybe do an email blast or text message blast to incoming guest about having a later check in time. Rooms were nice and clean. A lot of restaurants close by and close to the interstate nice property Again A+++++++ for the front desk and housekeeping staff on handling the tough situation

This hotel was perfect for our stay. Had amazing mountain views, close proximity to a ton of great restaurants. Straight shot to Salem Civic Center (for our concert); 13 mins away. The staff was nice, however they have one major flaw. We came in on Friday afternoon at 2:30. I checked with the female receptionist to see if we could check in early and she said no, which was not an issue at all. I wait til 3, walk back up to the desk and the guy at the counter was beside her on the phone with management telling them that rooms were showing as available online that were not available. I was immediately worried that we had been double booked....Get to the lady and she says she can't check me in to check back at 4. (check in time is 3pm for this location). Again, no huge issue. My husband and I go eat down the road and come back. No there are at least 10-15 other people waiting to check in. I ask what is going on and if we can check in and she avoids answering the first question and says I still cannot check in. Around 4:45, someone FINALLY lets us know that the California Golden Bears Football Team had reserved the hotel and didn't leave the premises until 4:30pm, which caused housekeeping a delay in getting rooms ready for a timely check in for us. That is fine, what is not fine was the lack of transparency. The fact that they couldn't tell anyone until 5pm what the "hold up" was. AND THEN we were told that we couldn't check in to rooms until 9pm. We drove almost 4 hours from home to this hotel, had to get ready for our concert in the lobby (hope everyone enjoyed watching me curl my hair lol), and then were still not reassured that we would even have a room to come back to when we got back from our concert. This hotel has the potential to be an amazing place to stay, but they need to learn how to be transparent with their guests, and then when something like this happens (at no fault of the guest) offer the guests some kind of compensation or something for their trouble. Had it not been for the fact that the hotel was very nice, that the staff was kind (for the most part), and the location was perfect, I would have given this location way more stars. It seemed like and isolated event, and I hope they learn to mitigate future situations like this better.

Paid extra for (Premiere mountain view double Queen room) when booking our 2 night stay through my company's corporate booking site.
Even though it said room type/ rate on my booking receipt I was given a standard 2 queen room and advised that's all they had so nothing they can do.
I was advised by the check in lady that the mgr was not onsite, I could come back later and speak with them if I had a problem.
She tried to blame it on booking company and said I needed to reach out to 3rd party booking company.
Nothing about reimbursement for difference in pricing for room which was sizeable.
I Will not be staying here again, Once is enough.
I figured I would try another hotel other than where I usually stay when I come into the area.
This one is not it & does not include breakfast. They could at a minimum offered to add breakfast coupons for the inconvenience and difference in what I was charged.
When you are told you don't have a choice take it or leave it, but they still get to keep you money, that is good for the moment and current transaction but not good for continuing business at this location.
I will be advising my company that does corporate business with Holiday Inn across the US on this location , charging more and not honoring what you paid for and booked practices
