Let's start with I am a Diamond Elite member which i guess doesn't mean anything other than you choose IHG (mostly candlewood suites) lodging everywhere you go. Had a reservation booked for 2 weeks about 2 weeks in advance. Get to the establishment and told that the elevators are down and have been for 2 weeks.
One would think the manager would say, let's put this person on the first floor because they are going to be here for 2 weeks so they might have some extras with them. Nope, we are put on the 3rd floor. Having to drag computers, monitors, luggage etc. Here for training for a deployment with the instructor who has things needed for the class.
Proceed to drag all of this stuff, multiple trips up to the 3rd floor, so several flights of stairs. Finally get in the room, we have no towels, no wash cloths, 1 roll of toilet paper because the other that is on the roll is already used and about gone. Headed back down yet again, for towels and told oh we are understaffed. So that would mean was half cleaned as well? Lucky for me I dont trust hotel cleaning staff so I always have cleaning supplies but shouldn't have to use it. Definitely did here.
RM 301. Smelled like old furniture. Need updated and deep cleaned badly. Q-tip in the A/C unit, dust and crap blowing out of it. The microwave you put in your time, push start. If your done and there is still time you can't stop and reset. Button doesnt work. When turned on it sounds like it is going to either explode or just stop mid cook. Hallway constantly smells like weed. Cars revving engines at 5-6am every morning for no reason.
At no point in this stay were we compensated for anything. 10/10 I would never recommend. The only good thing is it is close to the airport and blackout curtains. So if you have a 1 or 2 night stay, maybe but I would probably look for something else.

I arrived just after midnight on Friday, April 17 after a long flight from Los Angeles, expecting to check into my confirmed reservation at the Candlewood Suites Richmond Airport. Instead, I was turned away along with about 10 other guests because the hotel had overbooked and had no rooms available. No one offered any help finding another nearby hotel, even though I had just been dropped off by Uber and had no transportation. My phone had no service in the lobby, and I was not offered Wi‑Fi so I could try to book another room myself.
The lobby was dirty, with trash on the floor and ants on the lobby table. The front desk was staffed by one older woman who seemed completely overwhelmed; she said there were dirty rooms but no clean towels to make them usable. From the outside, the hotel looks nice, but the condition of the lobby and the way this overbooking situation was handled were unacceptable. I did not stay and would not recommend this hotel, especially for late‑night travelers arriving after a flight.

This is the worst hotel I have ever been too in the world, and I have been to many!
First up they didn’t recognise my status, and the party going on in the parking lot until way after midnight was pretty disturbing when all I wanted was to get some sleep after travelling more than 24hours, then I was told the elavator was out of order and I would have to carry my bags up to my room.
The room is where the main issues were, it looks like they got refreshed recently BUT housekeeping don’t seem to do anything between guests other than change the bedding and towels and that is it! I had no soap or handwash in the bathroom (both containers empty), had to ask for it at reception and was given shampoo and told that would work for me.
After showering in shampoo I then looked in the drawer for the hair dryer and there was a soiled wash cloth in there and it was damp and smelt like it had been in there a few days or weeks.
The refrigerator was dirty and had some kind of stains on the front, all of the plates and cups were dirty, the knives in the drawer were dirty with litter also in the drawer, and there were no forks!? How is it hard to keep the basics clean when there is a dishwasher? There were hairs in the shower and the bed.. it was so nasty, if I wasn’t so tired I would have checked out and gone elsewhere! I strongly recommend swerving this place as it seems from other reviews my experience was not isolated and unlucky

I booked this hotel for my family vacation. I booked a one bedroom, King suite with a king bed and a queen bed that is also accessible due to having surgery recently. I got there at 3 PM and checked in, but the rooms was not ready. I left for over two hours came back after 5pm with groceries. I went up to the room and the room was dirty. The king suite have one king bed and some chairs. No queen bed, no sleeper no couch; just chairs. I went back downstairs and were told they are booked up and the only thing that is available is a non accessible room with two queen beds. They reassigned me to that room and it was also dirty. We had to wait with kids for them to clean the room for about an hour and bathroom was still dirty under the toilet. The carpet did not smell good and it was not accessible. The elevator was down so I had to walk up the steps. The staff were very friendly, very accommodating and they did the best for what they can do. The location was great near the airport and food. I like that they have a designated smoking area for people who do smoke and is pet friendly. The beds were comfortable. I also like the full size fridge and appliances.
This place was very terrible. The service from the manager was very disrespectful, taunting and unprofessional. My room still had food in the refrigerator, mold around the toilet, tub and shower. The room apparently had not been cleaned. Once I complained about the room she told me to leave and get out. This was her solution for all clients who complained. I know this because there was a line of people complaining about their rooms. We even exchanged stories about our rooms. Some people had dirty towels that had make up on them, some people had dirty bed sheets that weren't even made up but left from previous occupants. This hotel was disgusting. I had to leave to go check into another hotel. I had five rooms and I took my business elsewhere. This place was disgusting!
