Uncomfortable mattress and shred foam pillows. Not a good night's sleep before our flight

I travel to Norfolk on business regularly. This was my second stay here (August visit) at Tru by Hilton and it was a good stay overall. The hotel has a clean, modern feel from the moment you walk in—lobby was bright, welcoming, and well kept.
The room: modern, clean, and efficiently laid out. No issues with cleanliness.
Location is very favorable—Norfolk Premium Outlets are nearby, it’s close to the highway, and there are plenty of dining options in the area. Free parking is also a plus.
The only area that could be improved is breakfast. It was fine, but a bit limited and not as good as some of the other Hilton brands.
Overall, it’s a solid, convenient place to stay in Norfolk and I would return.

Arrived the previous night to get a room the gentleman at the desk was not equipped to handle customer service. I asked to book a room he told me no because it was already 5 am and I needed to check out at 11am, which the website states 12pm, but I was aware of that. I needed the room to sleep for those few hours. After being refused to book a room for that night I asked to book a room for that day at 3pm check in was then again told no and told I needed to book it online because it was cheaper. I left and went to another hotel booked a room online for here for 3pm online. When I arrived the lady at the desk gray hair black lady was super sweet to the man in front of me but as soon as I approached I was not greeted I had to greet her with a friendly hello which she returned with a scowl and when I realized she wasn’t going to ask how she could help me I stated I was here for a reservation which she then replied ID no “please” no “can I get your ID” just ID. I then handed her my ID and she then talked to me like a kid telling me I don’t have a reservation and asked if I made a reservation just now I replied no. I went back outside to get my phone to figure out what happened because my email stated it was secured I brought it back in to confirm this was the right location because it’s a million different hotels around she replied that date says December in a very very rude demeanor. For this woman to be the first face you see when coming into this establishment she needs to be retrained on customer service because this makes me not even want to return. Yes it’s a beautiful hotel but crappy customer service like that lets me know if I needed anything I wouldnt be helped gladly, I would be treated as an inconvenience.
