Our family celebrated our Aunt’s 90th birthday here and everything was wonderful. The rooms were well appointed with comfortable beds. The staff were pleasant, helpful and attentive. The Executive lounge was nice, great food and attendants. The restaurants (Saltine and VARAIA) were delicious and made our celebration a wonderful experience and allowed us to enjoy time with extended family.

They condone THEFT! My Gucci watch was stolen from my room by a member of the housekeeping staff. Despite reporting this incident, the management and security teams have failed to follow proper protocols or take corrective action. It is deeply concerning that the hotel refuses to accept responsibility for larceny committed by its employees. I am disappointed by the lack of accountability regarding this matter and expected a more professional response to such a serious security breach.

Hilton Norfolk The Main is a centrally located, modern hotel surrounded by a revitalized section of the city. Its easy access to eateries, sights, and walking paths makes it a convenient base for business travelers. The Rooms: 🛏️ The room was clean and spacious. Recommend requesting a higher floor for scenic city views. Amenities 🏊 Facilities: The hotel features a well-equipped workout facility and an indoor swimming pool. 🍽️ Dining: There are three solid restaurants on the premises. The Executive Lounge offers complimentary hot meals and a pay-as-you-go bar, which is a great perk for Hilton Honors members. 🚗 Parking Tip: Enter the parking garage from the back of the hotel to access the interior doors directly. This is a huge help during the cold winter months. Service: Service at the front desk was mixed. While most representatives were genuine and friendly, the experience was occasionally dampened by a stiff or indifferent attitude from other staff members. Overall: A top-tier choice for business travel in Norfolk, especially if you qualify for an available Government/Military rate.

This stay was extremely disappointing and did not meet Hilton brand standards. The room was outdated, with visible wear and stains on the headboard and surrounding surfaces, which raised immediate cleanliness concerns. Housekeeping quality was also lacking, as the towels provided were damaged with holes, which is unacceptable at this price point. The noise level was horrible. I was assigned Room 2019, which is located directly next to the ice machine room. While the ice machine itself is not particularly loud, the constant opening and closing of the door created ongoing noise throughout the night, making it very difficult to rest. I would strongly advise against staying in this room. There was an attempt at a thoughtful gesture with a handwritten message on the coffee cup lid; however, it was unclear whether a food-safe marker was used, which raised safety concerns. While the intent may have been nice, execution matters when it involves food or beverage items. Additionally, the in-room entertainment options were very limited. The television setup did not support common streaming services, which is a basic expectation for modern hotels and further contributed to the room feeling outdated. Overall, the room condition, housekeeping issues, excessive noise, limited amenities, and attention to detail fell well short of expectations for a Hilton property.

The hotel itself feels dated, and the wear and tear in the room was very noticeable. The headboard in my room was visibly worn and damaged, which immediately made the space feel neglected rather than refreshed or well-maintained. Additionally, one of the bath towels provided had a large hole, which further reinforced the lack of attention to basic room upkeep. In addition, there are no streaming services available on the TV, which is surprising for a modern hotel and especially inconvenient for longer stays or business travelers. Most concerning, however, was the noise level. If you value quiet, do not stay in room 2019. The room is directly next to the elevator and ice machine, and noise travels clearly through the vents. I could hear other guests as if they were in the room with me, making it extremely difficult to rest. Lastly, while I appreciate the gesture of goodwill on the lid of my beverage, it was unclear whether the marker used was food-safe. Writing directly on a drink lid with what appeared to be a metallic marker raised an avoidable hygiene and safety concern, as it was not evident whether the ink was edible or potentially toxic. While the location may be convenient, the condition of the room, noise issues, and attention to detail around guest comfort and safety made this stay disappointing. I hope Hilton considers updating this property and addressing these concerns to better align with the brand’s reputation.
