My wife and I got home from work around 8 p.m. to a very strong chemical smell in our apartment—strong enough to irritate our throats and make us feel uneasy. After calling the maintenance emergency line, we learned that the unit below ours had been glazed earlier in the day and hadn’t been properly ventilated. With a two-year-old daughter, a 65-year-old mother-in-law, and my wife completely exhausted, I decided it was best to get everyone to the nearest hotel for the night, just to be safe and have some peace of mind. When I walked into the lobby, it was quiet. A staff member noticed me immediately, walked over with a genuine smile, and welcomed me. His name was Felipe. He was intuitive, asked the right questions, and truly listened as I explained what we had just gone through. He was empathetic, calm, and thoughtful. He even shared a bit about his own family, which oddly enough helped ground me in the moment and ease the anxiety of the situation. When my wife came in shortly after, Felipe’s warmth and sincerity immediately put her at ease as well. It’s people like Felipe who turn a large hotel brand into something human and relatable. His kindness, professionalism, and emotional intelligence made a stressful situation so much easier for our family. He deserves real recognition. Thank you, Felipe.

Here they take 5 to 10 minutes to type a book report while you wait. Upgrade your system HIE Lorton! And the rooms smell like chemicals.

There is a nice workout room and a pool. In the lobby was a video wall that you can catch the game on.
