First I want to point out the positive of my stay Nov 7-10, 2025. I had breakfast each day of my stay and the ladies who served were beyond nice. Frances and Yaya were so courteous and accommodating. Also stopped by to see if I needed anything more often. Now the negative. No one ever came in to clean the room even though there was a sign in the room that cleaning would be done every other day. We hand to ask for additional toilet paper and clean towels. Not sure why this occurred but this was the downside of staying at this location.

Lack luster for the Hilton brand. Could use the an update. Feels more like a Hampton inn or Ramada in. For the cost of the room breakfast should be included. Rooms left something to be desired very dated, and rundown. Carpets and bathrooms have seen better days! Rooms in general could use a refresh. Water could be a little hotter. Front desk & dinner staff were very nice and accommodating! Food was good and service was nice. Over all I’d stay again but an upgrade could help.

Friendly staff and lobby looked nice. Room was outdated and dirty. Microwave was not clean, sheets were itchy, bed was hard, tub needed deep cleaning, and furniture needed wiping. I went and bought cleaning supplies and asked them to change my sheets. They did not change the sheets, but later gave me sheets which I had to change myself. It was doable for my two day stay but they may want to look into upgrading and put better cleaning practices in place. Loved it was located near stores and restaurants in walking distance.

NO HOT WATER FOR SHOWERS OR SINKS. The water barely gets above room temp for that reason alone I will not stay here again. The employees were welcoming and efficient, the rooms were clean and the lobby is nice. Decent parking.

Disappointed by Lack of Compassion During a Difficult Time I recently had one of the most disappointing customer service experiences at the Hilton Garden Inn Hampton Coliseum Central in Virginia. Due to the government shutdown, I was unexpectedly furloughed and found myself without pay. Out of courtesy, I reached out 24 hours before my scheduled stay to cancel my reservation and explained my financial situation. Instead of understanding or compassion, the front desk clerk named India told me she could cancel the reservation but would still charge me the full $1,053 because it was a “busy weekend.” When I tried to explain that I did not anticipate being unpaid and simply could not afford the trip, she showed no empathy whatsoever. She passed me on to her manager, Devin. His tone was cold and dismissive, and it was clear that all he cared about was charging my card, not the human on the other end of the situation. He offered no additional help or understanding. After I contacted Hilton Corporate, Devin came back and said he would “only” charge me for one night plus taxes. While that may sound like a compromise, it still showed a complete disregard for what furloughed employees are going through right now. When people are trying to stay afloat, empathy should be the default, not an afterthought. I’ve always believed Hilton stood for hospitality, humanity, and care. This experience reflected none of those values. I truly hope corporate leadership takes note, because no one representing your brand should ever make a struggling guest feel unseen, unheard, and penalized for circumstances beyond their control. Empathy costs nothing, but its absence speaks volumes.
