The location was very nice. It was near 95, enough that it's an easy ride off the exit and back on. You really couldn't hear much of the highway at all from the room. I was worried about that, but it was very minimal + I really couldn't hear anything until the morning rush hour. When you first come into property it looks like you're in a very lovely place. We did wish the signage was better. We were unclear on where to check in. Even though there was a big red sign that said check-in, it was such that my husband wasn't sure it was the hotel we were looking for since we never did see the hotel name anywhere. And somehow our first time through the parking area we missed the check-in car spots. Probably our fault after being on a long drive that day, but I do think it could have been clearer. If you have trouble with steps, you'll want to park on the side because there are are a number of steps to get up to the Grand entrance to check in. One's checking in we found out we would be in a different building all together so had to get back in the car and drive around back of the next door building. The building was fine, nothing special. The room was fine and again, nothing special. Just your average Hampton Inn type place, just on a larger scale. The bathroom light switch did not work. It was stuck in the on position. Other than that, the room was fine. I loved that the heat was noiseless. Virtually noiseless! If you stay in a lot of motels in the winter than you know how cool that is. Our check in experience was pleasant. The gentleman was informative and nice to deal with. He was better about giving details than most front desk folks I do wish they would get in the habit of telling you what time checkout is in case you do not already know. It just seems like it's an obvious thing to tell people. Nobody does it anymore, it seems. We did not want to dine on the property, so we drive down to the little plaza about a mile away and had the worst hibachi ever. It was a fast food place and now that I know better, I will never do fast food hibachi ever again LOL. That has no bearing on the hotel, but felt I should warn people:-). But, what you should know is that there are plenty of dining opportunities nearby. Like I said, this was in a good location for travelers. Breakfast is not included at this property, but it is available for a fee.

I booked Virginia Crossings Hotel, hoping for a nice stay outside Richmond. Unfortunately, it was disappointing. The hotel, once likely a prime wedding venue, feels stuck in the past: outdated decor, old carpets, etc. But the real issue was safety. An electrical panel cover literally fell off and almost hit my toddler; it was only caught by the narrow hallway. The panel was barely attached with a flimsy hook, and could be easily detached by small movements. We reported it and were switched to another room, smaller, no compensation, but the bathroom sink was completely clogged, holding water for over 10 minutes. Location was as expected with no easily accessible conveniences directly nearby, but the overall experience was bad. This was the first time I’d ever left a negative review on a stay. Will not return.

I rarely make a review, but for this hotel I feel I have to leave a review, cos I’m so upset to stay. Hotel says 4 starts rating, cost per night 200$, however this hotel even doesn’t worth 3 starts of rating. Dirty, dusty, furniture are old, smell odd, many room’s stuff doesn’t work. The actual price should be around 75$ max, and process of checking, and accommodation should be better.

We loved our stay at this Hilton property! The rooms were cozy without being cramped. Beds were super comfortable! We will definitely stay here again. Our only suggestion to the staff would be to do a good thorough clean of entry ways (not the main entrance, the other entrances to each building) and the elevators. Also the Monroe building elevator door is super slow, lol. Otherwise - such a great location. Thank you!
