    The Candlewood Suites in Richmond is probably not the worst option in the area, and I’m still glad I paid a little more compared to even worse places, but unfortunately I can’t rate it highly. The lobby area near the elevator was covered in dead leaves, and other unidentified detritus. The elevator was slow. The dishwasher in my suite hadn’t been unloaded and the floor and desk also had stuff on it. The suite obviously wasn’t turned over properly. The service was pretty good, I was only staying one night so decided not to press any issues, I did need ice and my icemaker wasn’t working, the worker went to an unsold suite and got ice from it. That was awesome service. Overall, next time I need to stay in the area I’ll probably try somewhere a bit higher end.

    First room I get smells like cigarettes, has a broken toilet seat and doesnt even have a phone to call front desk.. 2nd room I get smells clean but has a fan thats so loud you can barely hear yourself think.. I only book with IHG and this has be the worst hotel I've stayed at. This hotel needs a renovation, go to Holiday Inn up the street.

    Gave a three because the people in the room next to us where super loud all night and then early in the morning , asked a hotel worker to kindly ask them to quiet down which they did knock on the door and do so but the people never listened and where up at5:30-6:00 in the morning back at it hooping and hollering so it wasn’t a good night to get some sleep for my TOURNAMENT but gotta give the three stars for Diego he took care of the couple other issues we had checking in very fast and respectfully and it much very appreciated . I hate to not give a 5 because the place was nice and the staff are respectful and nice but unfortunately got a horrible nights sleep when I needed all the sleep I could get

    I do not understand how this hotel has the average rating it does, especially after seeing so many other 1 star reviews. Major ADA issues - starting with them refusing to deal with guests without handicap tags parking in the spots - and getting different answers every time we spoke to the desk clerk to try and get that addressed. We were in the what was labeled as an ADA room but the bathroom was not at all accessible - fortunately I was able to manage the issues with the 2inch high threshold to get into the bathroom, and the 18inch high tub side. We reserved and were charged for a room with a single Queen size bed - and were given a room with a Queen size headboard and a Full-size mattress. The bedding was stained, drawer handles were broken, and numerous roaches were seen in the bathroom. When checking in we asked about and were told it would be no problem for us to do a late checkout on Sunday (1pm). When I tried to verify with the desk clerk around 8am Sunday morning that the 1pm late checkout time was noted (we had a lot of issues during check-in), she proceeded to tell me how much I was inconveniencing them because they had so many rooms to clean.

    I have no idea how this hotel has any half decent ratings. The gentleman at the front desk was the only redeeming factor and I feel sorry for all the complaints he was handling left and right from frustrated guests. I'll let the pictures speak for themselves but know this isnt even all of it.
