Front office management Aerie was very welcoming, personable & informative. The room was tidy & the private room / living room offered adequate separation of space for us all. I will definitely include this location as a frequent for our needs.

Karen at the front desk is amazing! Years ago my room did not have a hairdryer. She could not locate one, so loaned me her personal one. Recently I called to make a change to my reservation & she knew exactly who I was when I gave her my name. As I checked in for that stay, she let me know she had reserved a room for me on my preferred floor as occupancy was filling & she wanted me to be where I was most comfortable. It feels so welcoming to be greeted by such a warm & caring person! Thank you, Karen😃

My request was unusual (checking in very early in the morning) and he was very kind to me by explaining what that meant. He even accommodated my request just in case I am late for Thanksgiving dinner with my Grammy. Thank you to Santa Mike and thank you to Candelwood Suites Glen Allen for letting the rest of the family sleep in instead of needing to work around my fairly insane work/sleep schedule. I hope you all have wonderful thanksgivings and I am thankful this year for you all.
- TGTim GrothNov 19, 20251.0I stayed at this hotel for two nights, and my initial impressions were good. The staff is very friendly and made us feel welcome right away. Our room was fine, but it did feel dated for the price we paid, and the first night there was very noisy and not very restful. There was also a frequent smell of marijuana around the property. I know this is legal in VA, but when traveling with young kids, it’s not ideal to encounter this frequently. On our second day, we noticed cockroaches in the hallway by the elevator. We mentioned these to the hotel management, and they apologized, but since we were in a rush to get to places during our trip and to get home, I didn’t discuss the issue at length with management while we were there. When I asked for compensation after my stay, the hotel denied my request because I didn’t discuss the issue at length with them in person. The IHG Clean Promise that they promote on their website states, “Good isn’t good enough – we’re committed to high levels of cleanliness.” They also promise to “make it right” if this promise isn’t kept. Regardless of when they are discovered, cockroaches are dirty enough to violate this cleanliness promise, and I am disappointed by the hotel’s response to my complaint.
