  Believe the latest reviews. I checked in and turned on the light and the roaches scattered everywhere. This is what was left after the scatter. I immediately went down stairs where I was told I had to wait for the next shift, and return, to have a refund processed for my security deposit and prepayment... they did give me a piece of paper with a cancelation request, but that was all of the service offered. the couple in front of me had the same issue. Avoid this one.

  Awful experience. Neighbor room was blaring music all night and yelling at each other. Absolutely dirty rooms. Worst hotel I've ever stayed in. The staff was nice but outside of that absolutely awful. Just not a great experience overall.

  Stayed at this property on December 12, 2025 (Room 307). There were roaches in the room, which was acknowledged and documented by hotel staff. I left the room and declined a room change due to the conditions. A refund request was completed the same night and I was told the refund was approved. The charge of $85.78 posted to my card, however the refund has never been issued. I have contacted the hotel multiple times over the past month, spoken with staff, emailed management, and escalated through IHG Guest Relations (case documented). Each time I am told the refund will be processed, but no action is taken and no one follows up. One month later, the refund is still outstanding. This has been extremely frustrating and disappointing.

  We have never stayed at a hotel that was filthy as the Candlewood Suites in Fredericksburg, Virginia. Our room was infested by CockRoaches and various other bugs. The kitchenette was not cleaned, if I could give it a negative review We would. We complained about the condition & the smell while we were there. I have never voiced a complaint about any hotel in the past. Upon arriving home we left our luggage outside and meticulously unpacked and washed everything. I am going to contact the BBB & the Health Department in Fredrick’s if ,Virginia. They also billed us 2 times for a 1 night stay. We got charged by Booking.com When I made the reservation at the front desk. Sincerely Linda Dowd
