- CVCollin Versaw6 days ago1.0I live in Richmond and attended BOLC. I wanted to know if I could stay at the hotel so I don’t have to drive 40 miles every day, so I called ahead of time and asked if I was covered for a room and if there was a distance limit and they said they already had one for me and I was good. The employee at the desk looked over my orders and gave me a room and said I would not have to pay. Then, midway through the course I find out I do not have a room and I owe them $3300 which they charged me for half of without even communicating with me. Apparently there was a 50 mile limit that was never mentioned by anyone even during the brief the hotel manager gave at the beginning of the course. When I asked them about they said they weren’t responsible, even though they knew about the limit and said nothing and told me I was good when I called. There was no apology or anything, not even for charging me without communicating with me. Keep in mind, that this was during a government shutdown when it was unclear whether or not soldiers would get paid. One of the worst experiences of my life that could have easily been prevented with clearer communication. I was not the only person in my class that this happened to either. Just a terrible way to treat soldiers.
