I stay here a lot for work and have consistently had good experiences every time. It’s super close to the planet fitness and centrally located to the job sites I work at so it’s always been my first choice when I’m in the area. Unfortunately, during my most recent stay I got a room that was not cleaned. After dropping my things off in the room I went to the gym and once I came back I went to take a shower when I then found hair all over the bathroom floor, sink, shower etc and a pair of dirty men’s boxers sitting in the corner. I hadn’t seen this when I first came in the room since I didn’t go into the bathroom only dropped my bags off but once I did I let the front desk know. They immediately helped me out and moved me to an upgraded thankfully clean room.
Definitely not ideal and it makes me weary of their cleaning procedures but they took care of it promptly. I haven’t had any other bad experiences at this hotel prior to this so hopefully it’s a one off mistake.

Arrival is at 3 and the neighboring lots are business, housing and a small shopping center away from the airport and not entire too far from shopping if you're traveling, this Garden Inn was not the best Hilton experience I've had.
Check in was slightly delayed to get my digital key. Parking was, at arrival open but the spaces are narrow and lingering snow makes for a bit of a tighter than preferred parking situation - at least it is free.
There was hardly a greeting from the check-in, but the lobby is a turn key 4 floor Garden Inn model. Aesthetically nice seating area, and there is a signature 24/7 bistro, but the selection was on the more limited size. My room was basically dead upon arrival.
Unlike other brands in the Hilton chain, this location didn't have a welcome message on my TV, nope I had a dark room with the smell of marijuana lingering from the room next me. The ceilings were covered in pink streaky mold. There was hair on the walk-in and stains all over the backsplash behind the toilet - the overwhelming sound of other guests came through the vents in the shower as I heard some interesting noises...
Speaking of loud, this place has a lot of rooms that are basically 400 or less sq foot on-top of on another that are in a 4:1 room/hall ratio. The sound from my neighbors coughing and the sounds of their TV made me keep my ear plugs in during my entire stay.
Bedding wise, the Garden Inn of Fairfax, VA has ok sheets and the overall mattress was newish, lacked any stains and was not overwhelmingly worn in to cause any noticeable distractions while sleeping. The bedding itself is average, and will make you shock everything in the room if you move the sheets too quickly - makes for a fun light show.
I was overcharged for my room, didn't get the receipt from my stay until I requested and unlike nearly every other Hilton I typically have my stay processed and my charges updated. Not only am I overcharged I am being forced to wait for their lackadaisical staffing to update their books.
Avoid.

Gave this hotel a second chance after a terrible first stay. The room was dirty, and the linens and bed skirt had red, blood-like stains. The front desk tried to excuse it as “spaghetti sauce or chocolate,” which was unacceptable. No matter what it is, it shouldn’t have been there if the room was cleaned. We changed rooms, and the manager called the next day to issue a refund.
Unfortunately, our second stay tonight was not any better. There was a stain on the toilet seat that came off when I wiped it. This hotel clearly does not prioritize cleanliness. The pillows smell bad, and the linens are low quality.
Even as a quick overnight stay just to sleep a few hours before an early airport trip, I would not recommend this hotel.

I only gave the service four stars because of the Front Desk operator yesterday afternoon, which was January 25th, 2026.
Stayed here for two nights in the middle of a terrible snow and sleet storm. I got stuck this morning and I used to work here and I was able to ask the head of housekeeping, Miguel, for help who quickly called in Rodolfo the head of maintenance to dig me out in freezing cold weather this morning without question so I could get home finally. Thank you guys so much I love you both so very very much. You guys are superstars in my book! Thank you for everything that you do there.

I stayed here for one night due to a business meeting and the location was very convenient. Overall, it was a solid stay—nothing over the top, but everything I needed was there. The hotel was clean, and the room was spacious and comfortable.
I did have breakfast the next morning and didn’t realize it wasn’t included in my rate, but that was my fault for not reading the details closely. Aside from that, no complaints. A good option if you’re looking for a clean, comfortable hotel close to Fairfax for business travel.
