  Title: A Peaceful, Exceptional Stay — Outstanding Staff! Review: “My stay at the Garner Hotel has been nothing short of wonderful. From the moment I arrived, the entire staff has been warm, welcoming, and genuinely attentive. Every interaction has been marked by kindness, patience, and professionalism — from the front desk to housekeeping, everyone here carries a spirit of excellence. I want to especially recognize Michael, who has gone above and beyond during my stay. His helpfulness, knowledge, and consistent positive attitude made a remarkable difference. He greeted me with kindness every time I came through the lobby and took the time to assist me with information about the IHG rewards program. His customer service is truly top-tier. The environment here is peaceful, clean, and safe — exactly what a traveler needs. I felt cared for and respected at every turn, and I appreciate how smoothly everything has been handled during my stay. The Scripture says, ‘Render therefore to all their dues… honour to whom honour’ (Romans 13:7 KJV), and I want to give honor where it is due. This team deserves it. Thank you, Garner Hotel team, for making my stay comfortable and peaceful. I will gladly return.”

  The room we got was spacious and bathrooms were clean. Rest of the experience wasn’t good. Hot water was not available at 3 pm when we checked in. It was one of the coldest days of the year with frigid winds and outside temperature in the teens. We didn’t get the room with two beds, but were told the sofa bed could be used for our teenage son. When we got back to the room late that evening, we found the sofa bed had no mattress. Usually every place I’ve seen has a thin mattress. Plus there was pet hair all over the mattress. We were just given a sheet and a comforter. Not even extra pillows. Called the front desk and the person said that’s how the hotel is set up. They don’t offer mattress on sofa beds. So please beware … it’s got springs and metal poles… and not going to be a comfortable or safe experience. I told them to at least vacuum out the pet hair and I was told they were backed up and will send someone soon. We waited an hour … tried calling back, walking to the front desk… no one anywhere to be found. We ended up not using the sofa beds, and my wife who is shorter than my son just managed to crawl and sleep on the regular sofa. Morning breakfast situation wasn’t that great either. Mediocre food… ran of out plates before 8 am. Toasters, microwaves in pantry didn’t work due to electrical connection issues with one side. Overall, not coming back here.

  Very nice stay for a great price. Will be my go to when I come to the doswell area. The staff was super accommodating.

  Very disappointed. Stayed there many times when it was LaQuinta. Stay there in March when they were remodeling, that was disappointing in that they were banging and moving stuff till later in the evening. But overall tolerable. This time 12/1/25, although no noise and painting made it look decent. HOWEVER, room left a little to be desired. NO frig (desk manager said he would bring one up if I really wanted. told him I'll use ice cubes, and by the way the room for the ice machine required you to use you room key), NO microwave, TV remote would need an engineer to operate. Could not for the life of me figure out the thermostat. Just blew cool room air around. set it to 80°f and waited. It got colder. Retried other options without success. Totally disappointed.
