  The front desk staff member that checked us in was horribly rude I checked I. On 2/21 around 3:30pm. The room also had stains on the carpet but other than that it was clean. The smell of marijuana also overpowered the hallways. The front desk that covered 3rd and 1st shift were very kind and hospitable and the breakfast was delicious and the pantry attendant was very attentive to keep the breakfast bar stocked and clean.

  I had an excellent stay at Holiday Inn Express & Suites Chesapeake! The hotel was clean, modern, and very comfortable. The staff was incredibly friendly and helpful, making the check-in process quick and easy. The room was spacious, quiet, and well-equipped, perfect for a relaxing night. Breakfast was fresh and offered a nice variety of choices. The location was also very convenient with nearby restaurants and shops. I would definitely recommend this hotel and would happily stay here again!

  Pros: Easy to find hotel. Easy check in and check out process. Friendly staff. Clean, large updated rooms. Free hot breakfast with large seating area. Small exercise room. Restaurants and shopping nearby. Large parking lot, room for oversized vehichles. Cons: The parking lot lights were barely working, so it was dark to unload. The pool was NOT heated and was freezing cold. No hot tub. The floor in the elevator was always wet.

  Excellent stay at Holiday Inn Express & Suites Chesapeake. The hotel was very clean, modern, and well-maintained. The staff was welcoming and professional, and the complimentary breakfast had a great selection each morning. Would absolutely stay here again.

  We stayed here for three nights as a family, and unfortunately this was one of the most disappointing hotel experiences we’ve had. Check-in set the tone. The front desk staff member was rude and visibly irritated when I called to let them know there was no TV remote in the room. She didn’t mute the phone while going to look for one, and her comments made it clear she was annoyed. Not a great start. We were in Room 423. After reading other reviews, I realized we may have stayed in the exact same room mentioned three months ago — because the same hairs and the same ceiling stain are still there. It honestly looks like something died on the ceiling and was never properly cleaned. There was visible mold in the shower and peeling caulk around the tub. Housekeeping was never done during our stay, and this is now our third and final night. We had to go down to the front desk to request fresh towels, and even then it felt like we were inconveniencing the staff. At this point, we’re just ready to leave. What’s most frustrating is that many previous reviews mention the exact same issues going back months. Nothing appears to have been addressed. It feels like complaints are acknowledged but not actually resolved. The breakfast was fine. To be fair, the morning front desk associate was the only pleasant and professional employee we encountered. This location clearly has ongoing management and cleanliness issues that need serious attention.
