    My wife and I stayed here from the 16th - 19th this October for our daughter's wedding. My daughter made the reservation through her Priceline account We had issues from the start. I talked to the GM the morning of the 16th about an early check-in. She assured me the king suite we reserved would be ready to check in by 2:00. Then at 1:00 pm in route to the hotel I get a call sayinf something about a computer glitch and that they rented my room. I talked to other guests who had the same issue. Makes me wonder if it had anything to do with a computer issue. Then.....the room they put us in had plumbing issues so we had to leave the wedding rehearsal to move to yet another room. Then the GM says she refunded us one nights stay....( Around $100) Plus the difference in the room rate.....another $60 sum dollars. When I checked out I was told I couldn't get a paper receipt? Checked with Priceline a week later and they were showing no refund had been authorized at this time. If you read Pricelines policy information they refund your money in 24 hours but they can't do anything until they receive it from the hotel and for the record the GM at this location has a serious attitude problem. They screwed up my stay but yet I was made to feel like it was somehow my issue. I just want my refund like I was promised back and telling people it's your bank is a total lie. Like I said ....my daughter made this reservation through Priceline and they are not showing any authorization for a refund of any kind. The only party holding up my refund at this Candlewood Suites is the general manager and or the hotel itself.Just wanted to update my review. We checked out October 19th ..... it's now October 31....ten business days and still no refund to (Heather Steinbacher) by the GM as promised. Priceline is investigating but apparently they are having a hard time contacting anyone...... Surprise..... surprise it's now November 7th and still no refund. 15 business days today. No big surprise with this update.... It's now November 12th and still no refund of any kind. These people legally owe us at least the price difference in the room we ended up in instead of the suite we reserved.......at the very least. I wouldn't advise staying here because if they end up owing you any kind of refund.......you probably won't see it .

    Had a perfectly fine stay here, though overall it feels more dorm-like than like a hotel. Still, it's very friendly and clean and having a kitchenette is great. Gather across the street is a great spot for breakfast, plus there's fast food nearby. In all, it feels more geared towards longer stays.

    Room had roaches and a weird smell. Told the front desk and no action was taken. The GM was rude and the hospitality was below par. Don't stay at this hotel.

    I recently stayed at the Candlewood Suites Chesapeake/Sufflok and had a fantastic experience. The staff were incredibly welcoming and attentive from the moment I arrived. My room was clean, spacious, and well-equipped with everything I needed.

    I wouldn't say this is one of the best Candlewood Suites hotels we've stayed at. The room had a disgusting chair in it (see pictures). I asked for a bedsheet to put over the chair so I could sit in it. Usually this chain has great rooms and service, but I didn't get that at this one. When I called first to ask for the bedsheet, the person who answered said they can bring it to me. I told them I was fine with coming to get it myself, but ok, I'd wait for someone to bring it. Literally 30 minutes later, nobody had come, so I went downstairs and saw that the front desk was busy, so I waited my turn. When it was my turn, I said I'd been waiting 30 minutes and he apologized. I reminded him that I did say I could come get it myself (would have been better for both of us, lol). The bathroom was up to par, thank goodness.
